According to imdb, you are right. WHY??? Her idol ??? (LMREO)
Mamie had given her beauty tips, and she was appreciative.

That honor will now set you back $50,000

Yep. LOL. Money talks. I'm doubtful how much influence anyone would have as to programming. More Paramount films? SURE! More premieres? SURE! (Yeah, right..........)
Here is a donation of $25,000. How about showing more Warren William films?

Typical that it's not open to Canadians. Oh well, I can put that 87 bucks towards my cable bill.
In other words, our programming suggestions made on these boards are ignored. You want to influence programming, come up with some moola.

That's it, DGF.
Your thread.
This relatively little known band recorded a rock song, with the name of a classic film star in its title, which was used in a famous '60s film. Band? Song title? Film?

Need the film, too.

Ooh, ooh. Now that we're talking about television, can I submit names of two television characters I'd like to pitchfork?
Schneider on "One Day at a Time" and Horseshack on "Welcome Back, Kotter".
Sorry, Tom, I just had to get it out.

Throw in Fonzie on "Happy Days", but only from today's perspective.

She actually did.

This was a pathetic tribute to Tuesday Weld - weren't any of her better movies available?
I turned on part of ROCK ROCK ROCK---an extended scene about loaning money with a dress as collateral. Execrable, and the music was just as bad.

I wonder what Mamie Eisenhower, from whom Mamie took her name, thought of this film.

Hint: The singer himself suffered from substance addiction troubles throughout the 1970's, but cleaned up (supposedly) by the early 80's. This performer is also English.
Guessing Bowie.

Get rid of the "c", dahling!

It had everything, didn't it? They talked about things we all (or most of us) could relate to, those absurd little situations in life. I liked how they tied the characters' various stories together at the end, always closing with the perfect comment. It's hard to imagine sustaining such consistently brilliant writing for so many years. I also loved how they found the perfect recurring cast members and guest stars for each episode. And it's wonderful that some people now even celebrate Festivus. "For the rest of us!"
Seinfeld would definitely be my choice for desert island viewing. With Lucy a close second.

I'm a big fan of the show, but occasionally lines or story arcs would go down with a thud. Some inconsistency, but mostly brilliant. But only while Larry David was still on board. When he left, it was rarely worth watching.

So, after Tuesday Tuesday on TCM, I'm ready for Wednesday Wednesday!

Too bad Roky Erickson did not go further.
There is some interesting thoughts about the 13th Floor Elevators in that book "Unknown Legends of Rock and Roll".
Thanks, DGF!
The name of Rocky Erickson has now been mentioned twice today on these boards......."Slip Inside This House " should be required listening for everyone.

Exactly who IS on your radar, DGF?
Enquiring minds are very curious!
I go in cycles. Right now, it's all Jefferson Airplane, all the time, with a sprinkle of 13th Floor Elevators thrown in.
-
I can't believe that they are not showing two of her best films: "Pretty Poison" and "Play It As It Lays".
I assume the tribute to Tuesday must be on a Tuesday.

Tuesday Zukerman is an unusual name.
