Fun facts about your favorite stars
HollywoodGolightly replied to HollywoodGolightly's topic in Your Favorites
Fun facts about Robert Redford: * Birth name: Charles Robert Redford Jr. * Lost out on the role of Ben Braddock in *The Graduate* (1967) because director Mike Nichols didn't think anyone would believe Redford would have trouble getting "the girl". * In the early 1970s Paramount had plans to remake *Double Indemnity* (1944) with Redford in the Fred MacMurray role. The project never got off the ground. -

Well, this is kind of like the one with the favorite stars from the South. The only ones from the Midwest I can think of are Judy Garland (Minnesota) and Marlon Brando (Nebraska). Can anyone help me with the ones I didn't think of?

wouldbestar, You can't go wrong with Slightly Scarlet, especially if you like noir. Though I have to confess, I've never watched it on DVD. -
Your favorite stars from the SOUTH?

Oh, I think it'll be worth the wait. You won't be disappointed, especially if you're a Ray fan. -
Kyle In Hollywood's CENSORED Poster Gallery

Very lovely artwork and beautiful colors for a movie that is still one of the high points of classic Hollywood. -
Has anyone else watched this lately? It just came out on DVD and blu-ray from the Criterion Collection. This is a really awesome movie with an incredible performance by James Mason, and an early appearance by Walter Matthau. The movie is pretty hard-hitting in its depiction of someone who self-prescribes a new drug to try to maintain an "edge" after learning he has a life-threatening condition. Very good Nick Ray movie, and sadly underrated.
