  1. Maybe the boxset is going to be made up of pressed discs, as opposed to the ones sold separately?
  2. Zapata, Josefa - Jean Peters in Viva Zapata!
  3. Dieterle, William - directed The Devil and Daniel Webster
  4. Fun facts about Buddy Ebsen: * Birth name: Christian Rudolph Ebsen Jr. * Appeared in three musical film extravaganzas starring tap great Eleanor Powell. * In the 1930s, Disney animators filmed him dancing in front of a grid to "choreograph" Mickey Mouse's dance steps for the Silly Symphony cartoons. * Best remembered by the public for his starring role as Jed Clampett on "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1962) or as the lead role on "Barnaby Jones" (1973).
  5. Guess that must be why they're showing a bunch of Buddy Ebsen movies today...
  6. > {quote:title=primosprimos wrote:}{quote} > If people actually really watch these clunkers on Easter (do they, REALLY?), where is The Robe and The Ten Commandments? I can only assume they aren't able to get the rights. The Robe is a Fox film, though FMC isn't showing it right now; and The Ten Commandments is from Paramount - isn't there a network that has exclusive rights to it? Sorry, I don't know the answer to your other questions.
  7. Do you have a favorite Michael Moore documentary?
  8. Fun facts about Jeanette MacDonald: * Birth name: Jeanette Anna MacDonald * In 1939 Jeanette was crowned "Queen of Hollywood" by a nationwide poll while the reigning King that year was Tyrone Power. * Made one movie with husband Gene Raymond - *Smilin' Through* (1941). * Her duets with Nelson Eddy are lampooned in the musical "A Day In Hollywood/A Night In The Ukraine." In the show, a movie star named Jeanette sings the song, "Oh, Nelson, What You're Putting Me Through" -- an operatic lament about her boring co-star -- while standing with a mannequin dressed in a Canadian Mounties uniform.

  10. Cat People is my favorite also, but I enjoy watching all of them.
