  1. And wouldn't you know, it would take watching Clint Eastwood on TCM to remind me that the San Francisco-born actor-director is also a West Coast star.
  2. Not sure about FMC - but the TCM database doesn't have an article about it, so my guess is that it hasn't been shown on TCM.

  4. If anyone has a chance to watch it, Black Dynamite is an awesome homage/parody to the great "blaxploitation" movies of the 1970's. The whole thing has been filmed as though it's not only a period piece, but as if it were actually being filmed with 70s cameras and film stocks - the whole look of the movie is utterly authentic to those 70s flix, imho. The movie apparently didn't do a lot of business in theaters, which is a shame, but now that it is on video it should hopefully reach a much wider audience. It also reminds us of how far we have come so far.
  5. Some people say that the old letterboxed laserdisc that came out many years ago had better image quality than any of the DVDs that were released. Of course, I've never been able to do a direct comparison.
  6. *Hang 'Em High* is next.... hope everyone who's watching the Inger Stevens movies tonight will enjoy.

This might not help much if you don't have a multi-region DVD player, but Christmas Holiday was released in the UK (which of course means a Region 2 DVD) as part of a Deanna Durbin collection.
  8. Dennis Morgan was in Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck
  9. Van Johnson was in The White Cliffs of Dover with Irene Dunne
  10. Theodore Bikel was in Moulin Rouge with Jos? Ferrer
  11. Jack Warden was in Edge of the City with Sidney Poitier
  12. Claude Rains was in Lawrence of Arabia with Peter O'Toole
  13. Lana Turner was in The Postman Always Rings Twice with John Garfield
