Dear Mr. Osbourne,
I certainly hope that you get to read this. You are my only hope. I m trying to find the title of a film that I saw as a child. Way back in 1971-72 channel 5 here in New York was called Metromedia Television. On sunday afternoons they always showed classic films. The film that I am looking for is a western. it was played many, many times throughout the year, and was always followed in the lineup by Cheyenne Autum. My memory is a bit sketchy, but I can clearly see this film in my head, it has never left me.
I remember the words (red, blood, sun or dawn in the title). It is a cavalry v/s indians film. I remember a lot of smoke signals throughout the film. While they were coming into conflict with the cavalry they were also at war with their hated enemies-The blackfeet indians. The highlight of this film is an amazins sequence where the cavalry and the indians decide to go to war. There is a great plains with hills on either side of the screen. The cavalry are gathering on the hills on the left side of the screen. The indians are gathering throughout the night on the right side of the screen. The hatred of the indians for the white man that even deadly enemies put aside their hatred and band together, each tribe arriving and taking it's place on the hill. In a truly touching moment the greatest enemy of the tribe-the Blackfeet tribe arrive and take their place alongside
the the other tribes to fight as one united force. As dawn breaks on the plain a truly epic battle begins.
