I'm trying to help out a friend who's about to come unglued while trying to remember the name of a favorite old movie..one she's wanting to share with her daughter as they study the Berlin Wall. After about an hour's worth of net searching, I'm doing what I should have done first and going to some real experts....you guys;-) Here's what my friend remembers:
Old movie, but probably in color, made somewhere in 60's probably. The leading man was well known at the time...Cary Grant comes to her mind, but I'm thinking not, since nothing pops up when I look into his movies. It was set in divided Berlin, where a girl (forgot to ask her what age!) spends part of her time with her mother (or!) father in free Berlin, and the other half of her time with the other parent in occupied Berlin. One evening she goes to the visit the other parent in occupied Berlin and it's shut down and she can no longer see that parent. Does this ring absolutely any bells? I'm just surprised that I can't find something when I search, but I'm coming up with squat. Surely some of you smart people might be able to help a girl out. :-)
