I'm looking for a title to a movie that takes place primarily in a hair salon/spa. The movie is about a young woman who loses her job, and then her best friend (a hair dresser) suggests to her that she become a hairdresser. You get the feeling from the movie that this is considered kind of a risque job, for some reason. Anyway, the woman goes off to join the salon - which is really a spa, by todays standards. Beautiful lounge furniture - round sofa, gorgeous fabric. The ladies come in with their children, to get the hair, facial, etc. gossip about who is having an affair with whom, etc. The best friend gets involved with the owners son, I think, and becomes pregnant? and its a scandal, and something horribly tragic happens. The new girl finds her man eventually, but I think he is married or engaged when they first meet.
I would love to find this terrific movie and give it to my very talented hairdresser who I love and think the world of. She'd really enjoy it!
