Most stunning, perfect eyes in the history of...THE WORLD! -
Man, I REALLY wish they'd nominated...

This is a great list...can tell you put much thought into it. But on a lighter touch: Ken Curtis (Festus) *"The Killer Shrews."* -
"The Black Shield of Falworth" (1954)

OK...'ya got me! You're right. I have to say, Curtis was ROBBED of Oscars for both *Sweet Smell of Success...The Boston Strangler.* He doesn't mind us having a little fun...he even laughed when setting the record straight on "my faddah's castle lies in 'da yonda." -
...and then wonders, "Where's the Beaver?"

"10 Rillington Place" (1971)

Wow! You're amazing...I thought I was the only person who thought they made a mistake with wrong hair for Judy Geeson...you're absolutely right! -

"Myles" *(Tony Curtis)*: "Yonda lies 'da castle of my 'faddah." -
Even at the peak of his career -- when he was No. 1 box office -- Errol Flynn stated that being in movies and being a star isn't "the be-all and end-all of life...there are other worlds to conquer." From the working actors and actresses I've talked to, being in film is just like going to the office...it's just work.

I heard a studio executive (can't remember who) explain a big head was essential for any actress or actor. Richard Burton...that was a melon!

Minneapolis Airport ROCKS! TCM!
Ascotrudgeracer replied to Ascotrudgeracer's topic in General Discussions
I always wondered which restroom it was, just out of curiosity. Ones I've seen at Minneapolis airport are always crowded and smelly, as one might imagine. Never seen a public bathroom that would seem appropriate for that kind of thing. Somehow I knew this discussion would be forthcoming. All in good fun, though. -
I am BRAVE...actually flew on first Monday after Christmas...wot a nightmare! BUT, first thing I noticed after landing in Minneapolis...televisions in gate areas all turned to TCM! How about messaging the airport bosses there with a thumbs up?

We all know by now, TCM (greatest thing in tv history) airs the masterpiece for the first time Jan. 18, 8:00 PM (EST). But did you know...Michael V. Gazzo is the screenwriter of this gem. Who is Michael V. Gazzo? *Frankie Pentangeli* of "Godfather Part 2." "Hatful of Rain" a powerful tale of heroin addiction in the 1950's. Tony Franciosa's finest performance.

"10 Rillington Place" (1971)
Ascotrudgeracer replied to Ascotrudgeracer's topic in General Discussions
I agree...Attenborough never gave a bad performance. Same for Karl Malden, yes? -
Many of you have never seen it, but when you do, you will never forget it. Creepiest, most powerful film of its kind...an atmosphere and story beyond riveting. Director: Richard Fleischer. Cast: Richard Attenborough *(his finest acting job EVER)* John Hurt Judy Geeson Best work of all time ever to come out of Shepperton Studios, London. How I wish TCM would get this masterpiece on...campaign for it, kindred spirits!

Why come not being scheduled? Best thing Tony Randall *ever* did! Robbed of an Oscar nomination.

song of the south with uncle remus

Anyone sees any connection between the anti-Black accusations regarding "Song of the South" and "Jungle Book"? Edited by: Ascotrudgeracer on Nov 19, 2009 3:08 PM -
*I am DETERMINED because nobody else thinks it is very good, but everybody talks about it and I say it's impossible to walk out on it!*
-
*Creature from the Black Lagoon* My favorite Whit Bissel performance, but there are many others. I especially like it when he is cast against type...playing a heavy.
-
Don't tell me you're one of those people who call women "actors." *Actresses* is so much better...and precise!
-
1. Whit Bissel. 2. Gaby Hayes. 3. Ed Wood, Jr. 4. Wallace Reid.
-
Shall we say *Model Shop* is in the embryo stage of cult status?
-
Much sought-after in the advertising world. *Mad Men* SHOULD include him on a segment!
-
Let us not forget the opening titles: *Walk on the Wild Side* (1962) The black cat...the white cat...the catfight!

Now let's not have any snarkiness when TCM aires *The Gay Falcon* Friday morning (6:00 EST) Nov. 20. -
This is the most DIFFERENT movie ever made...I love it!
