Sounds just like what happens in the neighborhoods surrounding the Los Angeles Coliseum on game days. Bet it's where they got the idea.

Treasure of the Sierra Madre GAFF

If anyone tries to remake this movie I'll apply for a stinkin' badge and arrest them. -
I hereby elevate *Model Shop* (1969) to cult status. Any objections? There is something so eerie to this Demy masterpiece...but I can't place my finger on the effect, or how he did it. I challenge anyone to not watch this movie to the end.

Anyone think it strange that in the middle of a Mexican desert, prospectors can climb a mountain and find SO MUCH WATER they are able to construct a hundred-gallon-a-minute sluice? It's a MOVIE...I get that...but... Dobsie...you there?

YES, exactly! Same thing happens when a motorcycle or car is over-restored. Ruins the thing. Better to leave it like it is...the patina effect.

Talking to myself...again. *The Man with the Golden Arm* (1955)

You know what I mean...but that was kinda funny! -
I can spot a Saul Bass titles sequence the very first second. How about you? Favorite? Can we agree he had/has no equal?

I will never understand why people care what goes on in other people's bedrooms as long as it's between consenting adults. -
The MOST REALISTIC fight scene in cinematic history: *The Treasure of the Sierra Madre* The bar..."I'm just inviting you to have a friendly little drink." Edited by: Ascotrudgeracer on Nov 13, 2009 9:49 AM Edited by: Ascotrudgeracer on Nov 13, 2009 9:49 AM

Robert Keith also the rich New Orleans patriarch whose children (and spouses) come to his home for the last time to see him die and get his money. They are forced to wear grotesque masks...you know the rest.

...and how about Valerie Harper and Donna Douglas! and Jerry Lewis! -
Some love, some say it's lousy. Look deep into the cast on the credits...some will surprise you! Showstopper number: "Jubilation T. Cornpone."
-
Yes, and the "Communist Threat" issue wherein the lesbian who is the girl-gang's fence pays them to smash up a schoolroom! And no SWAT team in those days...cops wearing soft cloth caps shoot it out with revolvers.

Brian Keith's father was ROBBED of an Oscar for his supporting role in this GREAT film!

Grace Kelly star of the month: but does she deserve it?

*Country Girl* a pretty good job...but that LOUSY accent in *Dial M for Murder* made me physically ill. Hitch should have told her to simply speak in her natural way. -
I will watch anything in *black & white.*

How about the way she risked her life sabotaging the Hitler's troops in Holland as a mere child? This was one hell of a woman! They don't make them like her anymore...Merle Streep? Don't make me chortle! -
Hearing about rabid humanoids who murder innocent children, wars, sour economy, flu...what a relief and what a gift to always have *TCM* at the ready! When I'm on our channel, even if it's something I don't care that much about, to me it's like swimming in a pool of delicious, warm oil (I use that line to much). No commercials, no mayhem other than the scripted variety...Turner Classic is an oasis. And Robert Osborne is not credited enough; he couldn't do anything more!

From 1956, has the distinction of being the most financially successful film ED WOOD was ever associated with (writer). Female teenage gangsters...**** men at knifepoint...shooting it out with cops. Let's campaign TCM to air this masterpiece. We've seen *Mr. Blandings Builds His Outhouse* more than enough!

By the way...it's *Jayne.*

This was a woman who worked tirelessly...who labored in the toughest business in the world when the word "career" meant something. She was extremely intelligent. I think her time is still to come...she will be appreciated, but not quite yet.

Joan in *Rebecca.* All I can say is, this is the most scrumptious woman I have ever seen. BUT, I also love her look in *Beyond a Reasonable Doubt* wherein her maturity and worldliness gave her something extra. Never cared for the sister.

*The Tingler* (1959) 11:30 PM (EST) We've all seen it...can't stop watching it!
