  4. {font:Calibri}Here's one: "Born in Hollywood in 1938, I studied acting and ballet in New York and made my film debut in 1959 in a true story. My next picture was with Joan Crawford. I became respected as a dependable supporting sometimes lead actress, with costars such as Gregory Peck, Sean Connery and Paul Newman. I’ve stayed busy also in episodic tv of the 60s and 70s and in tv-movie productions in recent years, earning praise for playing the Kennedy matriarch. In the 1970s and 80s, I started producing tv movies and afternoon specials. I have been seen as the mother of a doctor on a current tv show and have played a Senator in a very disturbing movie. I’ve also taught acting courses and am the executive director of an esteemed school in San Francisco. Do you know me?"{font} Edited by: allaboutlana on Oct 18, 2011 2:59 PM

  9. I was watching Hitchcock's *The Wrong Man* recently and was very impressed with Vera Miles' acting of Fonda's wife who was having a nervous or mental breakdown, and I thought she should have been nominated for it. I'd like to get others' thoughts on who they think gave great nervous breakdown performances. I also would name Jack Lemmon in Save the Tiger. Any thoughts on this thread.

  17. Any guesses from flash, lavender, Miles or Mr6666? I'll let this go a little longer, I guess. The actresses in question are J.H. (who was in the B&W films) and H.H. (who was in the tv versions.) (They played the same character.) Quotes from B&W movies in question: "I know whose fault it is, and I'm not telling." and "Would you do me a favor?" "Well, we'd have to know what it is first." Edited by: allaboutlana on Oct 13, 2011 2:12 PM
