When their Broadway plays, *West Side Story, The King and I, My Fair Lady* were made into films, they didn't reprise their roles? And, I believe all the leading actresses had to be dubbed.

My first reaction when I read this was one has to be Doctor Dolittle, 20th Century Fox. That's all I have for now, and I will be away from the computer for the rest of the day. Anyone can finish this answer and/or take the next turn.

I couldn't decide this morning if I wanted to let it take as long as it takes or just tell, but since you gave a guess and listed two of the films I was talking about. I'll give you the thread and tell you they were among the first instances of nudity (for movie stars) in films. Kirk's was in The War Wagon and There Was a Crooked Man.... I would have mentioned Deborah Kerr for The Gypsy Moths, but a double was used. Your thread. Thanks for playing.

That's not what I was thinking about. Kirk did it in 1967 and 1970. Charlton Heston in 1968, and Burt Lancaster in 1968.

Not that one either.
3. He buys a movie studio and gets in the moviemaking business. Meanwhile, his ex/stepmother, goes into acting.
(This has been on TCM, but not recently.)
-
10. The film was shot in black and white, because Wilder thought the makeup used by Lemmon and Curtis would be too garish.
Next: *The Postman Always Rings Twice*
-
No. it's not that one.
2. His girlfriend went after his dad, became his stepmother, and now she is a widow.

Here's three:

General hint to get started: It's something in their career, not personal.

They were all dubbed by Marni Nixon. I was just going to add it, as an afterthought, and saw you had already responded.
