Tom JH, you nailed it to perfection. The best four photos from WHITE HEAT.

One in particular that I would like to see is THIS THING CALLED LOVE with Melvyn Douglas and Rosalind Russell from 1941. I want to see what the Catholic Legion of Decency got all upset about back then. Remember Rosalind Russell was supposed to be a devout Catholic.

Yes, there are some premieres of Fox films on TCM in April, but if you had the Fox Movie Channel over the past few years you have probably seen them already. Still I am happy for those who have never seen them before. Enjoy !

Nice to see a rare John Wayne Universal B film,SEA SPOILERS,listed. What are the chances it will still be there when April comes around ? That's the question.

Problem with January issue/TCM Guide?
cody1949 replied to ThalbergFan's topic in General Discussions
I never even got my January issue. I contacted TCM and they said they would send out a replacement copy. -
Will TCM ever show WHITE BANNERS again ?

What classics would you like TCM to air?

Josef von Sternberg's UNDERWORLD would be another classic that needs to be shown. It has appeared already on a pricey DVD but not TCM. -

A year or two ago TCM aired some movies from the Eastman House collection in Rochester, N.Y. I know for a fact that in their collection is a famous Louise Brooks classic from Paramount in 1928 called BEGGARS OF LIFE. TCM has never shown this film. Besides Ms. Brooks the film starred Richard Arlen and Wallace Beery. It was directed by William Wellman. -
I usually agree with Leonard Maltin's reviews, but 2 movies that I disagree with him are APACHE and NIGHT AND THE CITY. I found both the Burt Lancaster movie and the Richard Widmark movie to be much better than 2 or 2 and a half stars rating.

Dubbed Actors that Needed No Dubbing

There wasn't any singing in the movie , but it sure didn't sound like Dana Andrews voice in FORBIDDEN STREET with Maureen O'Hara made at 20CF in 1949. -

No, there was no need to perform; just an appearance. Like a mystery guest on What's My Line would be fine. Cary Grant was tributed on the Kennedy Center Honors in the early '80's. Come to think of it, perhaps Tyrone Power appeared on What's My Line. -

Yes, Luise Rainer. There is a wonderful story about her life in the September issue of Classic Images. A marvelous monthly periodical for movie lovers of the golden age. -

The Oregon Trail (1936) missing John Wayne western
cody1949 replied to Bogie56's topic in General Discussions
A few years ago at the classicflix website, a list of future Olive Films releases was presented. I am pretty sure THE OREGON TRAIL was on that list. Anyway, nothing has come of it. Also on that list was SLEEP MY LOVE. THAT too has failed to come out. -
Universal seems to finally have awakened from a long sleep. September releases in their vault series: CHINA THIS DAY AND AGE TILLIE AND GUS BACK TO GOD'S CONTRY October releases: FLESH AND FANTASY FOR LOVE OR MONEY LITTLE MAN, WHAT NOW ? THE THING THAT COULDN'T DIE YOU NEVER CAN TELL If they can keep this going monthly I am sure there will be a lot of happy campers here. I, myself, found 4 titles that I have long wanted.
