I would love to see the 2 DON WINSLOW serials of the early 40's. Interesting heroines in each.Elyse Knox,mother of Mark Harmon, in DON WINSLOW OF THE NAVY and June Duprez of Thief of Bagdad fame [1940] in DON WINSLOW OF THE COAST GUARD.

I think you are absolutely right. The sets are the main attraction in this movie. I'll take Sabu and the 1940 version any time. Now I am less upset about the early start of this film. Just don't mess up on Ace Drummond, The Constant Nymph and The Story of Temple Drake.

Yes, this is one hell of a screw up. Not typical of TCM. Now we have to wait at least 3 months to see the film complete. I wonder if anyone's head will roll at TCM.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned a really good little gangster film from 1947 aptly titled THE GANGSTER. Produced by the King Brothers at Allied Artists. It's available for purchase at the WB shop, but I want to see it on TCM. I saw it many years ago and I remember Barry Sullivan, John Ireland and Akim Tamiroff were among the cast.

I suppose if Israel retaliates for Hezbollah rockets fired into Israel then Israel is responsible for the conflict. Administrator, I think it is time to remove this thread. It has nothing to do with movies anymore .

Fred C.Dobbs, I hope you are right. I hope the old dictatorships will not be replaced by fundamentalist Islamist regimes as happened in non-Arabic Iran when the shah was overthrown.

Evidentally you don't know what's happening in Syria, Libya , and Yemen. Even if they topple their dictatorships, do you REALLY think they will open up their minds to a diverse society with freedom of speech and religion as we have here in America.

If the image of an Arab shows them to be an intolerant people they certainly deserve it. Here in America they can practice their religion; they can build and attend a mosque. Ask your guest Mr.Osborne why Christian bibles and crucifixes are not allowed in Saudi Arabia. My wife worked there for 9 years. She has told me much you wouldn't believe. Ask your guest why people with Jewish sounding last names are denied entry as visitors? I am not talking about Israeli Jews. I am talking about American Jews , British Jews , French Jews,etc. I am sorry but until Arabs recognize their own discriminatory behavior they cannot have my sympathy.

THE MONKEY'S PAW, unfotunately is considered a "lost" film. I wish it were otherwise. As far as I know, VILLAGE TALE and FROM THIS DAY FORWARD have never aired on TCM.
