  1. I'm still far away from an answer. Am I looking for a German munchkin? and one old enough to have been in silents. I came up with Little Billy Rhodes who started in movies in the early 20's, lots of Austrian descent. A push in any one direction would help.
  2. Thomas Mitchell, film 1 and 4 are all correct. Hint on # 2: he's aboard a sea going vessel and #3's major portion of the film is after his family is grown.
  3. That's right Sue2. Sophie Tucker introduced pants to the US. Thank you Sophie.
  4. Close your eyes and picture her shimmying her shoulders and growling out her song..."Some ___ ___ ___ ___"?
  5. Lana, I worked on this and another one of Finance's for an hour last night. Knew it had to be The Wild Wild West but couldn't come up with a Dr. episode. Your hint just helped so much... Ida Lupino as Dr. Faustina in The Night of the Big Blast episode?
  6. Yes...and such a great Charles Coburn wasn't he? Your thread, Lav.
  7. My Big Fat Greek Wedding Crashers next: RUN
  8. Living quarters are hard to find due to a housing shortage during WWII so a retired businessman plays matchmaker while on an assignment in Wash DC.
  9. The connection I thought was their titles are from verses in the Bible but your answer is equally entertaining. You have the thread.
  10. Were they both understudies in Tarnished Lady?
  11. I bow to you. I haven't come up with anything..I only said Nanny McPhee 'cause it sounded better than Dirty Dingus McGhee. Maybe one more clue?

  13. Your spot-on descriptions helped pull Jane out of the hat. Thanks, Lav: 1) A pilot buddy absolves another of any wrong doing. 2) A loyal lieutenant aids in a kidnapping. 3) A father raises his family working for the railroad amidst depression and war. 4) Father and family take in a stranger post Civil War with apprehension. Supporting Actor: chronological order
  14. They each had an Oscar winning song. Pinocchio/When You Wish upon a Star, Song of the South/Zippity Doo da, Mary Poppins/Chim Chim Chir-ee The Lion King/Can You Feel the Love Tonight
  15. How about 2) Stage Fright and 4) Magnificent Obsession?
  16. It's not Bea Lillie according to books on who I'm referring to and according to the quip she beat out Marlene Dietrich with the introduction of pants in the US . She was a definitive stage lady...a little burlesque, vaudeville and famous for her method with a live audience. Cujas, you know her well but not for dance. She had a signature song.
  17. I'll take it..Legendary performer known for her wit and saucy manner had a long career on stage and an occasional film was the first to introduce pants to US. Do you know who?
  18. Any connection to their award to the National Film Registry?
  19. A stab at this, Laurence Olivier's Hamlet maybe older than Gertrude played by Eileen Herlie?
  20. Good work,6's. Passing to you. Aside frome Tyrone Power who was rushed to the hospital and later died, the rest had accidents on the set. Thomas Mitchell was thrown from a carriage and suffered a fractured skull. Elizabeth Taylor fell from a horse and suffered a back injury, and Margaret Hamilton suffered severe burns on the set of WOZ when exiting Munchkinland.
