Problems with the Upgrade

> {quote:title=OldIsImmortal wrote:}{quote} > But there is also bad news here for *you* in this, Valentine. SS shortly thereafter told me (privately, of course, of course) that she was seeking to eliminate from this discussion forum those who were pressing too aggressively for TCM to make available at its web site a three month schedule, rather than *releasing schedules for any future months through unnamed sources, as is currently being done!* Except for the hole that goes in one ear, and out the other, your head must be 100% bone. As I, and others have repeatedly told you, there are no "unnamed sources." Anyone who had an old link, or has since used a newer one, can simply change the number of the month in the web address, and get succeeding months. And, I'm not boneheaded enough to believe that the posts were deleted because they don't want requests to restore links to printable full month schedules for future months. -

I guess that makes you a shrinking violet... well, maybe not. -
What docs would you like to see on TCM?
ValentineXavier replied to ValentineXavier's topic in Documentaries
Yeah, I think I saw that one on PBS. But, it is good, and not well-known, so sure, it would be a good one to show. -
a mixed up Betty Garrett tribute!

Interesting. You might be right. -
TRAMPS, TROLLOPS, AND TARTS OF THE SILVER SCREEN

Yep, Mae was always very much in control, and her own woman. -
How dare you dislike Brando! Hope that was lighthearted enough... I'd like to see *MotB* with Charles Laughton as Bligh, and Brando as Fletcher Christian. Perhaps a computer generated version, some day...

There was a good laser disc set, The Cartoons that Time Forgot, that had Flip, and Ub. I think it might be on DVD. I keep meaning to transfer my LD to DVD. One of these days...

> {quote:title=finance wrote:}{quote} > Mason only takes murder cases, especially those in which the real killer has a good chance of confessing in the witness chair. Actually, Perry practiced criminal law, and we often see him take cases that aren't murder cases, at least at the beginning. He even took up a few probate/inheritance cases. But, I don't recall any class action suits for misrepresentation.

I haven't had any TCM volume problems. If you have cable, I'd bet it's something wrong at the local head-end.

Strange Casting Decisions with Wonderful Results

Obviously some major expunging, here, and on the similar thread. Looks like Oldis, isn't, any more. Since it was deleted, and this is the appropriate thread, I will repeat - TCM, please reinstall the links to the full month print outs for the two coming months, that were on the old site. If one knows the addresses, (posted below,) they are still accessible. So, why no links on the TCM home page? Please fix this! -
Actors/Actresses Who IRRITATE You!
ValentineXavier replied to Ascotrudgeracer's topic in General Discussions
I certainly don't find those details about Kate annoying. Thanks for posting them. -
> I wish I knew how to do that trick quote-in-a-white-rectangle thing. Well, I will have to struggle the best I can. Just begin the line with > Good observations about Lewton and *Cat People*. I should have specifically stated in my previous post that I quite agree with you, about it being an "Essential." That was the point of my definition of what is an essential film, but I neglected to make it clear I meant to back you up. Sorry.

I thought he said "I'll be Bach," because he wanted to play a great composer.

Where was Balder? And, if you didn't stay until the very end of the credits, you missed something important.

Wasn't MOMA doing a retrospective, using that very film, at the time? I was hoping that had something to do with it, and that it would be rescheduled, but LZ is probably right. Still, we can keep our fingers crossed.

> {quote:title=cigarjoe wrote:}{quote} > > *Where Danger Lives* (1950) Atmospheric, stylized not a bad Noir though Domergue doesn?t quite gel in the part . 7/10 I can understand why people think that, but I think she worked quite well. She is psychotic. As a psychotic, she is always a little distant, always not quite 'there,' other-directed, and we can't see 'the other.' She may have come across that way because of limited acting skills, but I think it worked, for the part.

Pardon me for being a geography stickler, but Mexico is part of North America, as is Canada. Still, I take your point.

A "marionette" is a puppet. -

Well, the king of found footage is Craig Baldwin, in SF. He has an alternative/exp. movie theater there. He helps experimental filmmakers find just the right found footage for use in their films. He is also a filmmaker, who made my favorite experimental film, *Tribulation 99, Alien Anomalies Under America*, entirely from found footage. -
Thanks, Ray. Hmm - contrast, China, or color, they are all "C" girls! Fred, I think I may have seen the green-eyed, red haired girl somewhere, possibly on some test signals I had on Laser Disc.

It's all a conspiracy between publishers and filmmakers. If "historical" films really were accurate, people would just watch the films, and never read the books.
