[Need Title for Old Movie - maybe war movie]

Hey FredCDobbs,

 

Thank you so much and... wow! There have been many times over the past thirty-some years that something has triggered that one scene from that one movie in my mind and I have always thought, "I need to look up the name of that movie." Today I finally searched for it and could find nothing on the Internet. Then I stumbled on this site and searched it but could still find nothing concerning shaved women or nuns heads. Then you gave me the answer and I find it was a question merely a month ago... small world.

 

I looked up everything I could find on the movie you gave me, "Five Branded Women," and I still remember nothing about it. Not only that, but I cannot fathom myself watching such a movie at any point in my life and I cannot really see my parents watching this movie. It has to be the mystery movie though and I thank you for giving me the information... maybe I will rent a copy and watch it again thus taking away its ability to haunt me every so many years!

Thank you so much for answering so quickly! It is definitely not "The Magdalene Sisters" as it is not old enough. I saw this movie in the late 60's or early 70's and I don't think it was "A Town Called Alice" either. I am getting on in years and I have always had a terrible memory, but I think (I looked it up on several sites and read a lot about it.) if it was the right movie, something about it would have jogged some little part of my memory and nothing did. It didn't even mention heads being shaved anywhere and that is the only part of the movie I remember so it must have been an important part of the movie and should be mentioned in any summary.

Hi,

 

I am looking for the name of a movie I saw as a kid - I am thinking late sixty's or very early seventy's. I only remember one scene, vaguely, and don't even know during what part of the movie it happened. I think it was five nuns but I am not sure of their number. I know their heads were shaved to "mark" them. I don't know if they were raped but I think bad people did the shaving - I don't think it was done as a punishment although I could be wrong. I don't know if the movie was in color or not.

 

Now I am second-guessing myself - the women might not have been nuns but I think they were. I remember them standing as a group on a dirt road running through the middle of... shacks, tents... maybe, after their heads were shaved.
