  1. Exodus, yes, I believe that is the song. I found a clip here: http://www.reelclassics.com/Gallery/music2.htm Thank you so much. This has been nagging me for months. Mark
  2. Thanks for the replies, everyone. I managed to record a feeble rendition of me whistling what I believe is a few chords of the refrain to this song. http://home.earthlink.net/~petrodena/test.wav I listened to clips from "The Big Country" and "The Magnificent Seven". Unfortunately, these were not the song I am seeking. These songs are rather "bright", while the song I have in mind is not necesssarily darker, but it is more serious. Thanks. Mark
  3. This is a toughie: while in a restaraunt recently in Europe, I heard the piano player render a beautiful performance of what I believe is the opening song/piece of an American movie. From the sound of the piece, it had the feel of a theme written for one of the great Westerns of the 1960s, but I could be wrong. It's sound is also compatible with a great, perhaps sad, love story. Either way, the song bespeaks a journey. I do not believe the song has lyrics that were ever readily associated with it. The piece had the grand, sweeping feel of great events and possibilities, and was somewhat melancholy and deeply reflective, in slow to moderate time. The song is one that I suspect most of us boomers have lying around in the back of our minds. It was instantly recognizable, and moving. Might you movie score experts suggest a few places for me to hunt to identify the title of this mystery song? Thanks.
