  1. Wow, I suddenly have this image of Burt Lancaster on the beach, but instead of Deborah Kerr in his arms it's Montgomery Clift! Yikes! Makes you wonder if a modern-day remake would be more "true" to the original novel. I could handle it, just as long as the cast didn't include Nathan Lane!
  2. I can't tell you anything about "Topaz" because I've sat down at least three times to watch it, and each time have fallen asleep about 15 minutes into the film! BORING!!! I'm a major Hitch fan, but it was all down hill after "The Birds." When I think of "Frenzy" and "Family Plot," and compare them to "Shadow of a Doubt" or "Rear Window" or "Notorious-" well, there simply is no comparison. And for what it's worth, I think "The Trouble With Harry" is a wonderful film, one of the funniest and wittiest movies I've ever seen. And what a movie debut for Shirley MacLaine! I've been in love with her ever since...
  3. "You ever been bit by a dead bee?" If I ever get to meet Lauren Bacall, I hope have the forethought (and courage!) to ask her that question...
  4. I knew the first time I sat down to watch "Schindler's List" that it would be difficult, but I was totally unprepared, and absolutely lost it at the end. I don't ever remember crying like that before... So, when I went to watch it the SECOND time, I thought for sure I could handle it. I was wrong. I cried even harder. If a movie's greatness can be measured by the strength of the reaction it evokes from the audience, then I have to say that "Schindler's List" is one of the greatest films ever made. Mr. Spielberg, I'm not sure how you did it, but it is an amazingly powerful film. Thank you.
  5. As soon as I saw this post, the first person that came to my mind was the judge in "Anatomy of a Murder." How funny that the creator of this post said the exact same thing! And Edgar Buchanan in "Move Over Darling-" hilarious! One of his best performances! "Well, what idiot declared this perfectly healthy woman dead?!" "You did, sir..." "Oh- strike my last remark..."
