  1. Rita Hayworth was in *You Were Never Lovelier* with Fred Astaire.
  2. Henri IV was lucky to keep his head--most everybody else (Royals, Aristos, Catholic Saints) was thrown in the Seine. Now you know why Paris has that "unique" aroma.
  3. Quote by a famous movie star, who was also the actor's actor
  4. Ava was in *The Sun Also Rises* with Tyrone Power.
  5. Did you see Ava in *The Sun Also Rises*? Is that really her? Bull fighters and all?
  6. I sure do! For Xmas, I got *Portrait in Black* and *Madame X*. She was a good actress, she was a beautiful actress--She was a great Movie Star. I believe her life experiences made her into a better actress in maturity than she when she first started. You have to respect her tenacity, courage and strength.
  7. Heston was in *The 10 Commandments* with Edward G. Robinson.
  8. To parapharse--"Never play an eating scene with a 'method' actor. He'll spit all over you." Edited by: cujas on Jan 3, 2011 5:58 PM
  9. She was a beautiful TV actress as well--the last time I saw her was on "Murder, She Wrote". She just took the whole show. And she was simply lovely in "Funny Girl". I don't think she ever reached her full potential. Pretty Girls are so often type-cast.

  11. Peter Lawford was in *The Picture of Dorian Gray* with Hurd Hatfield.
  12. *Manpower* Raft was suppose to star--But Robinson got top biling. Both of them actually fought it out on the set.
  13. "You look Marvelous!." Billy Crystal got his career started imitating Muhammed Ali.
  14. Bogle, thanx for your restraint on Very Barry. Re: Her Majesty, The Queen. She's none of my business because I don't have to pay for her. The French Monarchy was outlawed in the 19th Century. But they're still alive and get their money from marrying rich German and Argentian international business families. That's the Orleans branch--the Bourbons--Louis XIV etc. have an heir--He's The King of Spain. I hear he's doing alright in Madrid and doesn't need the French to pay his way. So much for monarchy. 15. That's easy for me--*The American In Paris*--1951 I'm a tap dancer. I majored in French and Studied in Paris. And I've seen all those paintings depicted in the movie. I lived the fantasy of being an artist (tap dancer) in Paris. Believe me, there was nothing "Hollywood" about it. The movie was shot on the backlot at Culver City with 2nd unit longshots in Paris. But the film really looks like it was filmed in Paris and they did such a good job because Minnelli and Kelly really knew and loved the City of Lights. (La ville des Lumieres)
  16. Fi--Maybe El Gatillo (The Trigger) is laughable where you live. But we have so many Hispanics here that they're laughing all the way to the bank. Edited by: cujas on Jan 3, 2011 5:10 PM
  17. That is definitely a no-- Whole film has all those elements--a real lively romance--not just a vindicative retribution.
  18. As Larry Parks said to Evelyn Keyes when he(Jolie) sang "April Showers"-- Miles, "This is just for you, just for you."
  19. A beautiful lady has a rich mean and demanding husband, who happens to be very ill.
  20. ABBA is truly the 8th wonder of the world--Why anybody would buy or listen to this elevator music is a wonder to me? It's what I call Middle Europa Muddle--eventhough it's in English, it still makes no sense,to me, whatever. Edited by: cujas on Jan 3, 2011 4:45 PM Edited by: cujas on Jan 3, 2011 4:56 PM
