Oh, I'm sorry. But I saw my name up there and responded automatically. -
I saw it last night. I've studied French cinema--but really knew nothing about her. It was simply interesting for the diversity of subjects. She was right in the thick of the American Racial and Vietnam violence. That surprised me.

Mr. 6, I cannot deny that that close-up was the first one they showed in film class. However, the popularization and artistic development of the close-up has always been attributed to Billy Bitzer, DW Griffith's cameraman, in films like *Orphans of the Storm*91921) and *Broken Blossoms*(1919) starring Lillian Gish. Since I'm not the Movie Professor--I won't argue with you-- Mr. 6 its all yours!

You know, I don't know as much about London--but didn't Hitch film a lot there--before Hollywood. Certainly--*Sabotage*, *39 Steps*, *The Man Who etc*--and later *Stagefright* and *Frenzy*. -

Paris--*Charade*, *Funny Face* & *Gigi* (All these movies were actually filmed in Paris. Gene Kelly's *An American in Paris* was filmed in Culver City on the backlot of MGM--with only some backgrounds and longshots filmed in Paris.) -
