  9. Hollywood Movies are often a remake of a foreign film that the American audience is not familiar with. In the 1940's, a noted Hollywood director made a film starring a Mega-female movie star. This film was rather noir, but could be called a non-traditional woman's movie. The original version was filmed in Europe in the 1930's. Ironically the actress who starred in the European film became a Mega-female movie star too by the '40's. This may seem difficult at first, but remember both the women were top stars in the 40's and the director made a career of directing such stars. Please name the Hollywood movie, star and director. For a Brownie point, do you know the European star of the original version?
