  1. When I lived in Chicago, many moons ago, I went to see Bobby Womack at the Lincoln Park venue across from the original Chicago Playboy Club--talk about Sexist-- I went because the song he wrote for The Stones was my favorite-- "I used to love her, but it's all over now". I ended up that night at the Playboy Club with Chuck Mangione--of all people--he'd just hit it big with some song. And I can testify that a pro-feminist woman can have a very nice time at the Playboy Club--it's bar and food were superb. I don't know if they have them anymore. PS--Where I come from we call a questionable girl "Fast".--You can guess why. Edited by: cujas on May 11, 2011 7:47 PM
  2. They all were at one time the voice for Mister Ed. "Only Joking-- They all played "Red Ryder", according to my research--I never read the strip--I stayed with "Dick Tracy" and "Judge Parker".
  3. This very big Movie star started out on Broadway in a co-written Thurber play. That's saying too much already. Please name GBS and the play. Hint: it was an actress.
  4. *Johnny Tremain* *Tonka* *The Absent-Minded Professor* *The Love Bug* Yes--I know they're all Disney productions--But the question concerns a credit all 4 have in common.
  5. Mary Astor was in *Return To Peyton Place* with Tuesday Weld.
  6. Simone Signoret was one of the greatest actresses and biggest movie stars of the Post-War French Cinema. She was the first French Actress to win the "Best Actress Oscar" for *Room At the Top" in 1958. She also won international acclaim in Clouzot's *Les Diaboliques* in 1955. Her second husband was the equally talented and famous French Actor/Singer, Yves Montand.
  7. Ethel Barrymore was in *The Spiral Staircase* with George Brent.
  8. Jack Barrymore was in *Grand Hotel* with Lionel Barrymore.
  9. I could say I saw all these films at the Orpheum Theatre-- but you wouldn't know that, would you? I think, instead, you want my Grandpa's favorite TV character: Festus/Ken Curtis appeared in all these films.
  10. You say Lana, I say Judy-- I guess they all got around. Fi's up--
  11. Ty fought and fought to do "Nightmare Alley". He really gave it his best performance. And it always remained his favorite movie. Ty Power as a geek? Now, that's acting!
  12. I got *The Black Swan* for Xmas. What kills me is that he looks and acts so modern--he would be right up there on the screen today--with the best of them--no time lost. Tyrone Power was a great actor--in spite of his great beauty--Billy Wilder knew it--because he hinged *Witness for the Prosecution* on Ty's performance. What an actor/What a man!
  13. Ty Power David Rose Artie Shaw Joseph L. Mankiewicz Not a movie or a showbiz vehicle --but one person in common with all.
  14. I couldn't resist trying to stump you--with a movie song. But helas, it was useless. Miles, you're, as the kids say, the Bomb! Miles' turn--
  15. Better late than never-- We all loved Cuddles-- Miles is yours for the taking--
  16. Well, Mr. Miles, you may be too good for me. But I've stumbled upon a song, not from a musical, that might interest you. "You said that our love will grow together 'Cause you're mine all mine But dynamite love won't grow an inch If you don't take your time." Song is from a non-musical but is sung by a well-known singer. Serves as the theme song for a character in this movie. Please give us the song title, movie, and singer Miles--It's all yours--
  17. Knowing you--i'm guessing they all starred in movie with themes and/or soundtracks by Burt Bacharach-- I can name a few off the top of my hat-- Butch Cassidy--Newman Casino Royale--Niven Lemmon--April Fools I'll let you do the rest.
  18. Although this man became an aclaimed classical pianist, he came from a questionable background--his people were thugs.
  19. You were joking about George who, weren't you? I never know when you're joking--But that's a big part of your charm.
  20. I sure can--I had the Ethel Merman record! "Who do you love, I hope-- I hope, hope, hope it's me. Will that do?
  21. The Hollies are one of the few Brit Invasions bands that I still listen to. My all time favorite was "I Can't Let Go". And "Look through Any Window" a perfect example of how a Brit Invasion band should sound. George always liked them best--as a group they were so well-meshed.
