Miss--Pat Boone was one of the top male vocalists of his decade--great and serious voice. "April Love" always gave me goosebumps. He was probably the first real singer who attempted rock and had a real movie career. See: "Bernadine" and "Mardi Gras" I saw first run--real "cute".
His religion doesn't have anything really to do with his career.

Only tough if you were scheduled to dance with them and you didn't know how to dance.
-
Yes--he went from Fiorello! to "Happy Days!"
Fi's up--

Fred-- You are right Joan was a little too old for the role--but she pulls it off well.
This movie is something that women just love--because most of us end up having to choose between the better of 2 jerks. But there was a lesbian undercurrent too--did you pick that up?

Could be that Kate just intimidates some men--afterall she is the original "uppity" woman.
-
Please see below--this guy went From Top Broadway star to Hollywood in the movies of Natalie Wood and Debbie Reynolds, just to name two. But, helas, he ended up a very big TV star in several series.

Yes, and It Might as well be spring because it is!

Here's a Dick Powell/June Allyson groupie who must speak out!
I grew up loving June in *The Glenn Miller Story" with James Stewart. You got to know how to have just the right amount of smaltz to sell something like that--and June had it.
As for *Good News*--June is not the best dancer in the movie and she's not even the prettiest. But she carries the movie with her charisma--yeah, she had it and the movie-goers wanted her.
I've got to run because I'm going out to but *Good News* on DVD!
"Here is the drag--see how it goes--down on your heels and up on your toes!"
As for *Words and Music*--reportedly at the time, the public's two favorite clips were Judy and June.
Kate Hepburn needs no defense in any way. If you don't like her, you probably need to stick to War movies and Westerns.

Terrence--Lucy wanted Barbara to play Ethel--But Desi had already cast William Frawley, a known drunk. So casting him opposite another known drunk was not feasible. Other people wouldn't use Frawley for that reason. But Desi had no trouble with him. And Lucy got Barbara other jobs on CBS shows--I've seen her on "Perry Mason" for one.
Barbara is most outstanding in the Butcher scene for the "Lucy and Ethel Buy a Freezer" show. By the way, my favorite show.
FYI--Barbara played the beautiful second lead in King Vidor's great classic, *Our Daily Bread*. and Terrence, that was no bit part!

Well, I've seen Morrison's last home and it's no place near LA. It's Pere Lachaise Cememtery in Paris. And apparently even in death he's controversial. His grave site draws crowds and vandals, which upsets the families of his deceased neighbors.

Think outside of the box.

He was one of the most acclaimed starring male performers in a Broadway musical from the '60's. Of course he won the Tony Award.
After that, he appeared in Hollywood movies with Debbie Reynolds and Natalie Wood.
But in his later years, he was best known for starring in several TV series.
If you know the performer, can you name his top Broadway show and top TV series?

Miles--You may never speak to me again, But I've only watched Roy Rogers & Dale Evans in their TV show. I think I'm too old to start with their movies now--But I loved "Nellie Bell".
(Please note hint and Question below):
-
I was going to talk about Bobby Blake, but you beat me to it.
next: Joanne Dru and Rita Hayworth--personal not movies
-
Yes it was George Bruns. I use to treasure of 45 I had of the "Tonka" theme. He was quite talented.
Fi's up--

No lo conozco--pero according to my research it has to be-- I guess--Antonio Aguilar?? Are you a fan?
-
I love every little thing about Dick Powell--including his singing.
But back to the business at hand--I am sick of Reginald Gardiner popping up in what would otherwise be perfectly good movies. Who could ever believe that Barbara Stanwyck, Ginger Rogers or Loretta Young would want to marry him. He's ridiculous--I suppose they just used him as a foil to make Ray Milland and Dennis Morgan etc look good. But after all, he's always trying to marry these gals so he can run their careers or enhance his own. Maybe--I sure hope so--that's all he ever had in mind--money. In "Christmas in Connecticut", Barbara actually asks him to stop talking about plumbing while he's kissing her.--You get the message.
Romantic Comedies need to be Reginald Gardiner-proofed for me.
If he has any fans, and I'm sure he does, I would like to hear about a role that he played that wasn't ridiculous.
All's fair--

FRED ASTAIRE ? OR GENE KELLY ?

Fi--I just bought *Royal Wedding*--He was also tuff dancing on the ceiling in this movie. When I watch that number I put my head upside down for pure appreciation.
