Off the top of my head--I would have said a big star like coop or Fred MacMurray-- But my research leads me to a man who, I thought belonged to Kay Francis and BD, but Stanwyck had him 5 times. George Brent is a much underrated actor, screen presence and sexy man. That says it all.

Singers who all appeared in The Marx Bros movies-- Jones--"Night at the Opera", "Day at the Races" Martin--"The Big Store" Baker--"At the Circus"

The only person I know about is the Louis Jordan issue in the *Paradine Case*--Hitch wanted Robert Newton. But that wasn't a leading man role--Of course he didn't want Peck either, but don't remember who he preferred.

Great Chemistry on Screen, No Chemistry Off Screen

Today Ginger Rogers is remembered, by the general public, as the woman who danced with Fred Astaire.-- Despite the Oscar--that's the main reason she was honored at the Kennedy Awards. In all, Astaire's stardom and art far outdistanced her success, which was limited to a deacade--the '40's, so that she remains a satelllite of Astaire. -
In the 1920's, I starred in one of Broadways hottest plays. By the early 30's, I was poised for movie stardom in a Capra classic. Unfortunately I died a few days after the premiere. Ironically my co-star in my last film also died only 6 years later in an equally untimely death. Everybody remembers her, but nobody knows my name. Do You Know Me?

I think the "Upscale Luxury Customers" are definitely people who have money to burn and who buy an assortment of luxury items. I definitely don't have money to burn, don't buy an assortment of luxury items--yet I find the money to buy a number of the items that TCM promotes--i. e. books and videos. Perhaps--they are targeting the wrong target audience--they certainly don't know who I am. How many of you out their are 1/4 or 1/2 a millionaire?--that target audience must be out there in the dark somewhere. Edited by: cujas on Apr 13, 2011 6:55 PM

Believe or not, I just got into Sam Fuller last week. Next: A small town girl wants to go on the Broadway stage.

Hitch didn't want Joel McCrea for *Foreign Correspondent*--he wanted Gary Cooper. (Also he didn't want Bob Cummings for *Saboteur*--think he wanted Coop for that too).

I should add that the insane asylum is a prison for the criminally insane--so the young man is not only mentally ill but has also comitted a murder.
