  1. Just saw *Ball of Fire*--the leads are good but the writing just doesn't hold up. It was such a corny script, I just couldn't believe that Wilder wrote it. FYI--I really enjoyed Allen Jenkins-- he carried more than his part of this chesnut.
  2. This has always been one of my favorite musicals. I think the sarcastic, caustic caricature of '50's TV fell flat in the eyes of the audience--who had just started a wild romance with the likes of "I Love Lucy" and "Milton Berle".
  3. Johnny--"Sheba" is about the lost dreams of youth--I suppose you have never gone done that path--So you can't understand why the story is so poignant. I'm happy for you.
  4. As far as Hitch's child stars go, this one went far. After his memorable and sad role with Hitch, he continued acting through adulthood and even was successful as a media broadcaster. He is_______.
  5. This director was an auteur who also wrote about auteurs.
  6. Yes Fi--can you also name the movie and his real life movie star co-star?
  7. From the Queen of the made-for -TV movie to the King--(This actor holds the laurels, he did the greatest TV miniseries of all time and was a famous TV actor) I loved this portrayal--because it was so cold-- In this TV movie, the "King" plays a butler who seemed to be determined to murder his elderly, rich employer for her money. Based on a true story and co-starred a real life classic movie star.
  8. Pat O'Brien was in *Slightly Honorable* with Ruth Terry.
  9. Toto was in *George Washington Slept Here* with Ann Sheridan.
  10. Gentlemen are not impatient and they're very considerate like Ashley Wilkes in *GWTW*. To the victor belongs the spoils--It's Lana! Edited by: cujas on Feb 10, 2011 5:41 PM
  11. I heard The Beatles live in Kansas City. We were screaming, of course; but since it was in an outdoor baseball stadium, we could hear and see them very well. I don't think the performances were always out of control, like it was so often reported.
  12. I think it's the scariest--funniest movie I've ever seen. Do you like it too? BTW--the dog's name was Prince. Mr. 6's turn--
  13. Movie not able to be shown in the South lost money--some theatres would reject the film without bothering to make the cuts.
  14. I knew it would take a lady--to have the patience to break through on this one! It's a cute piece of history. And now it's all about Lana--
  15. The post belongs to whoever got the title of the film--look at the hints and give another guess--
  16. Dick Haymes was one of our greatest pop singers--have you ever seen *State Fair*?
  17. "I'm Down"-- is a terrific gem by Paulie-- I like that line--"Me all alone and with nobody else"--"You still moan, keep your hands to yourself"--Boy, they don't play that one on the radio anymore--it was a wild one! Edited by: cujas on Feb 9, 2011 1:40 PM
  18. This movie about death--was by a great New Wave Director who died several years later. He himself had starred in this death obsessed classic.
  19. The dog in this movie resembled a musician in a famous big band that was known for it's music and hijinks. This movie starred the band leader and several "names" from the horror genre. Can you name the movie? Edited by: cujas on Feb 9, 2011 1:37 PM
  20. Yes indeed, with Karloff and Peter Lorre in the cast. Metz is up--
  21. Go back to Judy and Mickey--one number is from one of their top movies--
