  1. Thanks for the head's up classicstarlet, Looks like Rock Hudson is the Star of the Month on Thursday's in June. Some fun motifs that month too. From 60's Rock acts in film to a Fri.the 13th spook and eerie fest.
  2. Thanks for posting Obreinmundy, now we also know what five more of the new *Essentials* will be this year: They are... Sat. May 3rd: *In the Heat of the Night* Sat. May 10th: *Stella Dallas* Sat. May 17th: *The Haunting* Sat. May 24th: *The Dirty Dozen* and Sat. May 31st: *My Fair Lady*
  3. Sorry Remy and allthuimbs, I corrected my post's dates on the evergreen Ms. Rainer to reflect that she won for *The Great Ziegfeld* in 1936. Apologies for the confusion.
  4. allthumbs your correction still needs a little tweaking, if I may be so bold. It is Luise Rainer: Her first Oscar was for 1936's *The Great Ziegfeld*, followed by her 2nd in 1937 for *The Good Earth*. And, may Mr.Schell and Arthur Rankin Jr.and Christopher Jones, all rest in peace. Edited by: mockingbird13 on Feb 1, 2014 4:36 PM
  5. Finally, decided who to cast my vote for and... I want to commend "all" of you for all your hard work, really admirable! That being said, I've gone with *Lydecker's* schedule because of his Tuesday afternoon line-up (*The* *Mind Reader, Thirteen Women,Blithe Spirit* and **Family Plot**) wow. I really would stay home all day to watch those one after the other!
  6. sfpcc2, Enter the Dragon was shown as part of The Story of Film series on November 11th 2013 at 12:45 am. Can't really think of any other Kung-Fu movies that have aired on TCM though. Anyway Mr. Shaw (or is it Mr.Run in Chinese?) lived a long and fruitful life. Edited by: mockingbird13 on Jan 8, 2014 11:43 PM
  7. Dear mongo, Just wanted to drop in and thank-you for the years of enjoyment and to wish you a Merry Christmas and a very happy and "healthy" New Year!
  8. Dear Mongo: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE--Have a very LIBRA New Year Wow, sorry for the large image, and it being a little off-center Edited by: mockingbird13 on Oct 10, 2013 9:05 PM
  9. James Dean's Last Drive: Sept.30th,1955--RIP
  10. Actually he's not. Every source I have for him say's he was born in 1948. Making him 65 not 69, I still find 65 hard to believe too; as I still think of him from THE COWBOYS (1972)!
  11. What a great big wonderful loon he was! Loved him dearly. For those interested in a more dramatic turn from him, the ME tv network has kindly changed their schedule tonight to show Jonathan's Twilight Zone ep. "A Game of Pool." That's at 11p.m. (est)
  12. Ahh, thanks for the heads-up, mongo. I was wondering what had happened to yesterdays and todays birthdays. Your thread is the one I most look forward to everyday! :x And, oh my... I had no idea Myrna Loy looked sooo very old near the end, sigh... Edited by: mockingbird13 on Mar 3, 2013 7:54 PM
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEAN HARLOW (1911-1937) Edited by: mockingbird13 on Mar 3, 2013 7:51 PM
