I have been told that this purports to show artists at Disney preparing for their work on: Bambi (1942):

This brings to mind an exchange in a television episode: Rose Tyler: If you are an alien how come you sound like you're from the North? The Doctor: Lots of planets have a North!

The home inspection report does mention the presence of old bedding material in the attic. It is likely the animals were forced out and then the access point was sealed. There is a general rule that you should not put a bird feeder near the house because birds do not like being close to walls. It has been my observation for several years that birds are quite willing to come to a feeder attached directly onto the side of the house if it is a squirrel feeder and they are intent on stealing from it. Frequent visitors/thieves are cardinals and birds of the Paridae family which I can not identify here as they share a name with mammary glands and Mr. Otto Censor shares the same view as Victorians who coined the term: "white meat" so that they could mention in polite company a specific part of birds. We have made no such sightings as yet here. A factor which is looming on the edge of our consciousness is that it might be appropriate after we have moved all of our belongings and established some sort of order is to share our home with a cat. Or two. Or thirty. It would not have been right and proper before now because there were periods when we were both absent because of work. That part of our life is winding down due to evolutions in the industries. I could have been on the road at least once each month when I began a few years ago. I have only two such ventures proposed in all of 2022 and one is likely to be cancelled or handled by a person more conversant with new programs and protocols. My little fuzzy has at all times straddled the line between established procedures and cutting-edge techniques. The lines there are constantly moving and he is beginning to feel that remaining current has become a chase after diminishing returns. I say that just as he is to leave Tuesday for four days because a seminar originally scheduled for last August and which would best be held this coming June suddenly has been declared a priority by his best client! Ha! There is an old adage that a cat makes a house a home. I am quickly approaching a new record for length of time with no cat in my life. I know that it will not be easy because we will never buy one from a mill and adoption agencies will never approve us because we both smoke. The matter is not imperative and it will be interesting to see what comes along if we simply keep our eyes open. -

Would you not wish for a country estate with rooms for your twenty closest friends to stay the weekend and with woods for riding and fields of wildflowers? I believe I can picture you as a happy renter in: Ingrid Bergman's apartment in: Indiscreet (1958). It is charming and cozy and comes with two factotums. Have you grown past your dreams of a villa on the French Riviera? -

There were two other houses listed for sale at the same time. They looked to have been built by the same contractor at the same time. They are not exact duplicates of each other but were of the same basic plan. They differ slightly in size to best fit the size and slope of the lot. The most expensive has a two-car garage instead of a single. All had the same plumbing layout and ductwork runs. They also all skimped on windows by using one standard size in all locations. -

You have no need to worry. I shall at all times defend to the death my right to be the only person to stab you in the back. I keep hope in the back of my mind that all will be wonderful when we are fully settled and have dealt with all known issues. It is sad to think that will likely be sometime early in the next decade. We have the home inspection report and market listing from when the last owner purchased this house. It is nice to see that all issues in that report were addressed and so there are no long-standing issues which were hidden. We do have to deal with a furnace which is past its service life but we knew that before we purchased and we budgeted for it. We must now only have to find an installer who is not looking to add the cost of two weeks in Cancun to the bill. An oddity which I realized is that this is the newest home I have chosen for myself. I mostly have lived in houses built in 18th and 19th Century. Even the place where we lived prior to last week was nearly a century old. This house is barely sixty years old. It is younger than I am! TeeHee. -

I thank you for your kind wishes! That is very precious. I will surely remember this for many years. I thank you also because your post lends credence to my claim when I tell people that you are not like everyone says you are. You are truly a kindly soul ... much of the time ... I mean that you probably could be if you tried ... -

The squirrels add a very strong positive to this experience. The first one to discover our feeder is the fattest and he spends a considerable amount of time here. He is very methodical in his eating. In early and late morning is one joining him who is not quite so fat but is yet sufficiently rotund for all practical purposes. Two others seem to join in at times as they pass through the neighborhood. I must wonder if there are other feeders in the area. A fifth who is somewhat darker and is perhaps not technically obese has visited but has not become a regular. One of the second set of two has a black tummy. I can not tell if it is natural coloration or if it slid down a chimney belly-first. None of the rest of him/her is black. It has taken them nine days to eat approx. seven pounds of food. The general rule of thumb is that a squirrel eats a pound a day and so we are not supplying the majority of their food. That is how it should be. It is a nice thought that we are making it a little easier for them to find what they need as they prepare for the winter. -

The standard hot keys in Windows make this relatively easy. Simply press the: "Ctrl" key and "A" key simultaneously to select all text. Then press "Ctrl" key and "C" key simultaneously to copy the text to the clipboard. Press "Ctrl" key and "V" key simultaneously to paste clipboard contents into an active window.

We are yet at the stage where we are hemorrhaging money. Most was expected and budgets because of defects found by the home inspection and several peculiarities in our situation but new things throw me and make me fear for my bank balance. I find the plumbing here to be something of a marvel. The laundry area in the basement, the kitchen sink on the main level and the upstairs bath are in a line which means a very clean and compact layout. There are no fancy bends, hidden pipes or other mysteries. I find it impressive that it is all copper. Even the DWV lines are copper. I understand that this is unusual in middle-class house. I broke down today and purchased a decent office chair. I have a nice one but it is in a storage unit in the state where we first planned to move. I have a very nice and foolishly expensive one in storage unit in town from which we have just moved/are moving. It looks at this moment that it might be a month or more before we will be able to bring all of our things here and I could not abide for one more day the ratty little steno chair which we were able to bring. I justify the cost by saying it is in celebration for now going a full twenty-four hours with no disaster! -
My guess would be: Arthur Shields and: Barry Fitzgerald. They are credited on: IMDb.com as having been in eight movies together: The Quiet Man (1952) How Green Was My Valley (1941) The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945) The Long Voyage Home (1940) The Story of Seabiscuit (1949) The Plough and the Stars (1936) Top o' the Morning (1949) Easy Come, Easy Go (1947)

The "joys, sorrows, hardships" of ownership varies greatly from person to person. A homeowner might find great freedom in being able to do as they wish to the house while a renter might find great freedom in not being forced to deal with day-to-day issues of maintenance and repair and being able to move to a new place with little notice and little legal problems. We made a quick run to fetch more of our belongings. We found on our return that the screen door on the back door was twisted out of shape. It is obvious there had been a windstorm during the night that we were gone. We had noted that it did not latch properly every time and had put it on the list of things to correct eventually. A landlord with a crew of handymen would have repaired the latch for approx. ten dollars and half an hour's work. We do not have such a army at our disposal and so now face spending over two hundred for a new door and spending an afternoon installing it. A renter would be free of such hassle while we are free to chose which type of outer door bests suits us. -
I know the reason behind it but Natalie Wood in: Meteor (1971) had a nearly perfect accent of an upper-class woman from Eastern Russia.

I have it on good authority that the first American ambassador to Mars in 2082-2096 will title his memoirs: "How Green was my Valet" (2098).

I thank you for your kind words. I believe that you should know that you can not turn my head with flattery. To do that generally requires cash, gold or blini with sour cream and caviar. I naturally do take your words as compliments. To call me mundane would be an insult People have experienced physical pain for calling me: 'conventional' or 'typical'. I wish all here either a belated or an early Happy New Year! I wish you all also a Happy National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day (January Third).

You are kind to note such but I fear that I must say that your reach is limited. I am Orthodox. We celebrate New Years Day on January Fourteenth. We recognize that those who follow the Gregorian calendar celebrate it on January First but this recognition is equal to acceptance that there are people who like the taste of kale, people who willingly drive Fords and people who honestly believe that Justin Bieber is a talented performer. It behooves us to humour such mild insanities and not judge the levels of perversion which drive such behaviour. It is true also that I very much live in my own little world. It is nice. They know me here. One of the perks is that I can celebrate any holiday I wish at any time that I wish. I can ignore also any pre-formatted, cookie-cutter food/liquor/greeting card holidays. I have yet twelve days to decide if I will celebrate New Years Day at all. 😉

It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947) has a winter theme as they take advantage of the fact that the rich escape to warmer climes during the winter. June Bride (1948) might be said to have a winter theme as the magazine needed all photographs taken and the article prepared during winter months so that it would be ready for printing in the spring. Winter is the season for cider also and it is when Robert Montgomery learns that an apple can bite back.

This is the year also that the gold in Fort Knox would be available again if Goldfinger had been successful. He stated that the radioactivity would make it unusable for fifty-eight years.

We have squirrels! This was a point for us as we saw none in the area when considering the house and performing preliminary transition. Putting up a squirrel feeder was a priority because we feared it might take time to entice one of the wee beasts into the neighborhood. We are very pleased that this one required only a few hours to find the feeder and was soon joined by others. My little fuzzy grew up with brown squirrels. He lived for a short time in a place where he saw black squirrels even when he was straight and sober. Where we had been living had grey squirrels. I grew up with red squirrels. These do not have the ears but are otherwise much the same coloring for this time of year. I suppose we will have to wait for spring to see their normal color. He surely is a fat little thing! I fear that bodes a long hard winter. -

I thank you for your kind wish. I am happy to say that we do not worry of windows sent to the wrong site or a contractor tearing up a floor to install stone for a gardening room or the colors for kitchen, parlor and bath. We must instead face replacing the furnace and wiring the house with Cat6 so that we have internet access in each room. I am sad to say that the local ISP will not allow two modems on one line and so my little fuzzy and I must share an account. We had planned to make a major run this weekend to transport most of our remaining belongings but the weather forecast is against us at each end and muddlesome in the middle. We might undertake it in regular vehicles but neither of us are confident in driving a rental truck under such conditions. This comes after several days of no internet access. This comes after each of us received urgent requests for work which neither of us could ignore because of loyalty to our clients and respect for the much higher than normal amounts of money involved. Twenty-one billable hours for my little fuzzy and sixteen billable hours for me will very nearly pay for the new furnace which we need. -

It does much seem to be a kidney stone kind of life event.
