I could never recommend that. There are a high number of disc quality issues.

You may wish to consider also: Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951) A Boy and His Dog (1975) The Coed and the Zombie Stoner (2014) These three are all available free with advertisements on: TubiTV. Also to consider: A Boy and His Dog (1975) This is available free with advertisements on: IMDbTV. It is the yummy Don Johnson prior to his becoming famous on television. Quatermass and the Pit (1967) This is one of my favorite movies. I am sorry to say I do not know its availability except by buying an outrageously priced DVD. Also to consider: the movies of Christopher R. Mihm. He specializes in making 1950s-type movies on pocket change. I am sorry to say that I do not know of a current free source but they do seem to cycle in and out of several streaming services at irregular intervals. https://www.justwatch.com/us/search?q=Christopher R. Mihm&person_id=196386

I must wonder if you would like: The Man From Earth (2007). Please do not take the title the wrong way. It is set in a cabin on this planet. It was the last complete screenplay written by: Jerome Bixby who wrote also the story of the: "It's a Good Life" episode of the original: Twilight Zone series and: It! the Terror from Beyond Space (1958). It is a very gentle story. It is not about time travel but I believe that it will appeal to any with nous for such concepts. It is available free with commercials on: TubiTV and to subscribers of: IMDB.com. https://tubitv.com/movies/467588/the-man-from-earth?start=true I would suggest watching it with no other information because a telling of the basic premise is something of a spoiler.

Indiscreet (1931) A young woman jeopardizes the relationship with the man she loves when a no-account from her past shows up. Indiscreet (1958) An actress who has given up on love meets a suave banker and begins a flirtation with him...even though he's already married. Indiscreet (1998) A multi-millionaire client of a detective agency hires an investigator to get dirt on his wife, so he can divorce her. What the investigator finds instead is that the wife takes care of her elderly mother, likes to drink a little too much, and skinny dips in the ocean. He also sees that she is physically abused and when she apparently is going to attempt to drown herself, he dives in and saves her setting off a romantic coupling that innocently moves him unknowingly as the chief suspect in the husband's murder. Both of these movies concern a train with gold aboard. The reason they are different is that the first focuses on rescue of the passengers of a stolen train while the second follows the execution of the caper of stealing gold from a moving train. The Great Train Robbery (1941) Tom Logan is a railroad detective. Tom takes it upon himself to halt the activities of his crooked brother Duke. Duke and his henchman have stolen an entire gold train, including the passengers. These bad guys have stopped the train and have it backed into lead into a long since abandoned dead-ended tunnel. The nightclub singer Kay Stevens is one the passengers who requires rescuing by Tom. The Great Train Robbery (1978) Sutherland and Connery wish to rob a moving train's safe in Victorian England. They need wax impressions of keys, coffins, dead cats, and a great deal of planning in order to pull it off.

I agree with your general assessment. I did not state such things because they are spoilers. I fear that many people have not watched the movie because they do not seek out science fiction movies. It may be for some that they might watch the airing on TCM because it is benignly available. I did not wish to taint their 'cold viewing' of the movie. I feel at all times as if I am on a tightrope when I attempt to present the interesting aspects of a movie while not creating anticipations or ruining surprises. I did mention Roy's soliloquy because its presence and reputation are widely known even by those with no interest in the movie. I did not mention the mood of it or quote from it so that new viewers can experience it raw. There was a time in my life when my friends and I reveled in presenting spoilers of a sort. We would talk of such things as: "The walrus appearing at that moment truly surprised me" while leaving a movie theater and walking past the people waiting to enter for the next showing when there was not a walrus anywhere in the movie. We would debate also whether the 'dragon in her dream' was Chinese or Japanese when no character was shown sleeping and 'here be no dragons'. I will not falsely claim to have outgrown doing such things but there is so very little opportunity to practice it now.

I examined the list and it is much the same as for my post concerning: "The Island" as a title: many are directly named that and some have names which translate to that in English and a few are: "Also known as".

I thank you for your kind words. I suffer from a disconnect between speaking and writing. My speech has never been an issue but I realized that my writing carried a distinct accent no matter how carefully I constructed sentences to parallel sample sentences given to me. Speech-to-text software results looked distinctly odd in both word choice and sentence arrangement. My biggest obstacle has been to trust my verbal instincts when writing. Some people move their lips when reading. I have to do it when writing. I have been immersed in reading virtually exclusively English for several years now and so my dim brain is slowly accepting the structure as a standard.

"If you don't know the difference between there, their and they're, your an idiot." I am automatically against any viewpoint or opinion which is presented with multiple mindless spelling, punctuation and grammar errors because I have clear evidence in front of me that the person is clueless. There is a popular meme: "The only thing separating you from certain death at 65 mph is a painted white line and a mutual agreement to not play bumper cars." Communications is the same. There is a consensus on how words are spelled, where punctuation is used and how sentence structure affects meaning. A person who drives with two wheels on either side of the centerline has no concern for the flow of traffic and a person who ignores common rules of written English has no concern for communication. Both are instances of narcissists simply wanting to call attention to themselves. I am more guilty than most of making stupid little mistakes in writing English but I am at least trying to learn from my mistakes so that I do not repeat them. I know that I will never be great but I know also that I am better than I was a few years ago.

What surprises me is how many people did not notice it. My fuzzy is a writer and so I have learned that poofreading is not an exact science. "Accordion to a recent survey, replacing words with the names of musical instruments in a sentence often goes undetected."

Serenity (2005) The crew of the ship Serenity try to evade an assassin sent to recapture telepath River. Serenity (2019) A fishing boat captain juggles facing his mysterious past and finding himself ensnared in a reality where nothing is what it seems. The descriptions may seem vaguely similar but the ship in the second one is a deep sea fishing boat available for charter while the ship in the first one is a battered and decrepit spaceship of which it is said: Mal: Ship like this, be with you 'til the day you die. Zoë: 'Cause it's a deathtrap.

I am having great difficulty in comprehending the meaning of the title of this thread. I can not find the third word in the title in any online dictionary and reading the entire thread does not reveal if it is an inside joke.

The Island This list is incomplete. There are many shorts also and some: 'in development' and at least one is 'Completed' but carries no release date. A few of these are titled in their native language which translates to: 'The Island' and/or their IMDb.com page lists them as: "Also Known As: The Island". https://www.imdb.com/find?q=the%20island&s=tt&exact=true&ref_=fn_tt_ex 1966 - The idealistic Count, together with his mistress, a teacher on the title island, represents a more modern and open lifestyle. At the start of the film, we witness the death of the old 'Kabir el Gezira' (the island's ruler), leaving the land to his son Mansour. The first half follows Mansour as he takes control of his land and must deal with a band of other drug lords who are greedy to take control of the island. The second half of the film deals with the political conflict. It follows the government's side of things (which finally decides to take action) at the same time as Mansour's side as the two react to each other's threats and the conflict escalates. 'El Gezira' is a multi-genre picture. It is a thematic film on Egyptian politics, but also a drama, romance, action and thriller. 2009 - The death of a prominent citizen reveals the corruption that festers behind closed doors on a seemingly serene Greek island. 2009 - Trevor considers, with the help of animation, a piece of fan mail he received. 2010 - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6449204/ 2011 - In this romantic drama featured at the Cannes Film Festival, a couple, Sophia and Daniel, find their passionate romance taking a shocking turn when they visit the Bulgarian seaside. It is my considered opinion that: Blade Runner: The Final Cut (2007) is the definitive version as it is the only one over which the director had total creative control. All others had major decisions made by others. Which version that you saw would depend on the year and the format. I believe that: "International theatrical release" version was the only one available on VHS. A more-or-less complete breakdown is available at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versions_of_Blade_Runner

Blade Runner: The Final Cut (2007) A retired policeman is brought back to the force to locate four illegal immigrants. The gutters of Hollywood are filled with misfires when a great director with a great story and a great cast created a mediocre movie. This is not one of them. Ridley Scott creates immersive and intense realities for the viewer to become lost in for hours. This is perhaps his best. You do not watch this movie. You are in that world with all its glitter and grime. Bright neon and manufactured owls and people as cheap commodities. Harrison Ford becomes consuming and conflicted characters. He can not afford to be as free and easy here as he is as Indiana Jones. His Deckard has learned well that only the cold and calculating survive and he is totally dedicated to self-survival. Every noir needs a femme fatale. Sean Young fills that role perfectly. She is inhumanly icy and aloof. A rock against which men crash themselves. The story is based on a novel by Philip K. Dick. He was not as prolific as Asimov, Clarke or Heinlein but he will be forever remembered for the depth of his stories and how they questioned perception, human nature and identity. Rutger Hauer was constructed for combat but has the mind of a philosopher and the soul of a poet. The entire movie is worth watching simply for his eloquent and deeply moving soliloquy. William Sanderson, Daryl Hannah, Joe Turkel, Joanna Cassidy, Brion James and Edward James Olmos are all at their best in this movie. Many movies have sequels. The vision in this movie is so complex and expansive that seven versions have been created by re-editing and minor refinements. "The Final Cut" is the director's last word. 9.6/10 I watched this on DVD but it is schedule to soon appear on TCM.

The Man Who Cheated Himself (1950) A woman finally realizes that her husband is a fortune hunter and decides to divorce him. He realizes that his only hope of keeping his meal ticket is to murder her before she meets with her attorney. Her current lover is present when the attempt is made. I firmly believe that this might have been a great movie if it had had a larger budget and different leads. The script is reasonably solid, the direction is quite adequate, the editing is deft and the cinematography borders on excellent. It seems to me to be missing atmospheric details which could not be included in a limited budget. There is no accounting for the human heart but I could not square Lee J. Cobb as a semi-tough cop who would lose his head so completely over a dame. It is my personal preference that a noir have a femme fatale who is actually present and not phoning in the performance from her beachfront condo as Jane Wyatt does here. I found John Dall to deliver the best performance which is both a wonderful and a sad indictment of the movie. He is perfect as a boyishly simple honest cop who finds himself in a horrible predicament and forging ahead despite knowing how much it will hurt to reveal the truth. Alan Wells has only a small role but I found it to be very powerful and more interesting than the two leads'. Lisa Howard plays John Dall's wife quite well. 6.3/10 I watched it on: Amazon Prime Video. I see that it is listed on several streaming services and available for free viewing on: The Film Detective.

You wish to talk of 1950s styling? This is a 1958 Moskvitch 407. These cars were in many movies such as: One, Two Three (1961): This still is from the television series: Man in a Suitcase (1967-1968). Mine was blue. I am sorry to say that I do not have a picture of it.
-
The still is from: Chi dice donna dice donna (1976). The IMDb.com blurb for this movie is: "Film in five episodes on the female universe. Among the women portrayed, neglected wives who become prostitutes, a worker who improvises a sexy bomb and a priestess who gives herself as wife to an emigrant." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074310/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2

I have not been able to watch the introductions and I have not seen it mentioned in this thread but it seems to me the most appropriate application of astrology to movies would be actors portraying characters of a different sign. Leo is the most powerful sign and Aries is the weakest so a real-world Leo would have a distinct advantage playing movie-character Aries but not vice-versa. It might be of some slight interest also if a movie was assigned a sign based on the day filming began and there was discussions of the prospects, conflicts and aspects in play on the day that it was released. Was it inevitable that it would make a big splash and then die quickly or was it fated to emerge in obscurity and lay in the mud for decades before being recognized as brilliant?

It is now going to bug me all day which movie has a woman saying to a golddigger approximately the line: "When the preacher says 'Do you take this man?' he won't be kidding."
