It was odd juxtaposition that: The Eleventh Hour episode of: Doctor Who was playing in one and: Trash episode of: Firefly was playing in other. I believe that different temperaments of these episodes can be demonstrated by these quotes: Doctor Who: Amy: I thought ... well, I started to think you were just a mad man with a box. Mal: A brilliant, beautiful, evil double-crossing snake. I am now finishing and shutting off DVDs and hope to settle down to watch: Grantchester on PBS and then: Elementary on network television.

Monday, March 21 The Bishop Murder Case (1930) Basil Rathbone is very interesting choice as: Philo Vance. He was suave leading man in most prior roles. A Bucket of Blood (1959) A fun little descent into a quisling's madness. The Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) I believe this is one of the mainstays of horror. A Quiet Place in the Country (1968) Inconsistently effective with dabbling on the edge of surrealism. I believe that this is worth watching even although it is not likely to become a favourite.

I like to watch this movie as: double-feature with:The Cheap Detective (1978) because they are so much of a kind. Peter Falk is excellent and I doubt that I will ever forget: Eileen Brennan as Betty DeBoop.

I believe that the story has enough basic material to fill three movies. It is quite shameful in my opinion that they decided to drop parts of the story in order to add irrelevant scenes which are not a part of the story.

I feel that this is excellent Challenge! I have idea now for: optional Challenge number four which combines options of one director and many directors. I do so hope to have time to do schedule for this Challenge. I may have to recuse my schedule from voting for several reasons. I hope that will not create problem.

I have now finished watching both: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) and: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) which TNT aired consecutively. I must now reread: Dante's Inferno because I wonder which ring of Hades is reserved for those who believe that their talent for pandering to spittle-flecked audiences gives them the right to destroy one of the greatest stories of all time. I recorded it because we have hope to edit out irrelevant portions to have four hours of actual story. We will have to wait for airing on free television last installment in series in order to complete this project but we hope to do much with what we have now.

I like that movie very much! The young Myrna Loy is so delightfully wicked!

Capuchin has certificate from an International accrediting agency to prove that he is qualified to tune bagpipes destined for import into Europe. I like: I Love You Again (1940) very much. It is in many ways similar to: Love Crazy (1941) but the plot is a gimmick which makes it a little bit more of a romp.

TCM is still reeling from Time-Warner budget cuts and is scrambling to save money in all ways and to make money in all possible venues. Some in accounting department are very sad that they can not sell advertising time on channel. They did find loophole in company policy which does allow them to offset some costs of operating this website by selling time on forum to Korean spammers.

I find that a very uplifting sort of competition. I hope that you might keep me in mind if you ever have competition for foreign-language movies. Genre would be no matter. It would not be fair for me to enter such a 'race' because I have been watching them for more than sixty years but I could act as moderator or consultant or other such position. You might use me also to select narrow genre such as: musical science-fiction comedies in Russian or: surreal romances in Czech and know whether movies which others name are truly within the genre.

I find both: The Witches of Eastwick (1987) and: The Raven (1963) to be good fun! I like very much: The Black Cauldron (1985). I do not know if: Vasilisa the Beautiful (1940) fits your criteria as there is magic spread throughout it but some of it is good and natural forms of magic as might be encountered in any medieval landscape. The story does include Baba Yaga who is witch/sorcerer/evil spirit found in many ancient tales. The movie is available for viewing in entirety for free with English subtitles on YouTube. It may be best to search using title: Vasilisa prekrasnaya (1939). I feel that: Throne of Blood (1957) is definitely of the mood. The Golden Key (1939) is rife with magic. This is one of my all-time favorite movies! I love all things in it. The song in the nightclub of the drowned assassin is perfect! I love also very much her Christmas tree! It is so very modern while maintaining tradition. The cinematography is excellent and the art direction is so very wonderful. There is pivotal scene where she is as mirror image to her cat in that she is dark where it is light and vice-versa. Quite wonderful.
