Of course! I was thinking the character was watching people die - not dying themselves! duhh.

Is it "Conquest"?

The Lady from Shanghai?

"Hot damn" is right! I deliberately put the first 2 clues in that order so you'd think "female" virgin! *S*
Is it Titanic?

Not this time!
HINT #2: naive virgin

Okay! I can't remember if I did this one (or just "thought" it!) Forgive me if I did!

And I guess you know, but by "cold", I meant the year it was made. *s*

HINT #2: slice-of-(big city)-life

Path I had to go back and see the way you phrased "personal and/or professional" (relationships with Gable). While knowing that he died right after "The Misfits", I had never heard his opinion of Monroe. (the quote you cited). Wonder what he meant by that??
And guys there's a great thread in the Archives about Stanwyck Stuff, in the Double Indemnity topic, although I've only been there once. (I got in & couldn't get back up! Kinda scary "down there")
-
Well I'll be in the rest of the day, so, (as they say on the links) I'll "play through", if no one minds, that is!
HINT #1: campaigner

Oh darn! I HAD seen that but it's been years! I recall very little about it!
