  1. Morning Stella. I was hoping someone would! Is it "What.../Baby Jane"?
  2. Well I really don't have an answer to this querie, but after years of occasional, mandatory, and unfortunate rotations through the psych unit (hate those nights!), I can tell ya IMO that Woody Allen simply doesn't seem like a true neurotic. He talks the talk and knows all the symptoms and manifestations, but he's too chatty to be truly believable. I haven't seen a lot of the films mentioned already, but someone who did seem authentic was Don Knotts in his pre-Barney Fife standup routines. From the clips I've seen of him, he had his "Nervous Man" routine down pat!
  3. Thanks guys, for the replies and the kudos! I, too, have noticed the smoking thing. I mentioned to classicsfan here while back that Bette Davis didn't inhale, and several others (Marlene Dietrich, Lucille Ball) only took the aforementioned 'half-hits'. This was so annoying.. especially when it was a proffered cigarette. I keep thinking "why take it if you're not gonna enjoy it?!"
  4. You're the sly one, path! You got it!! (And I didn't laugh once, but you can't go by me.) *grin* Your turn!
  5. *LOL* I concede on #4, path. Touche!
  6. Yerright! It's not a comedy. *g* HINT #4: Macy's salesgirl
  7. I have been thinking about this topic for months, and have mentally compiled a few recurrent themes in film that are either redundant to the point of 'cliche' or are just plain annoying, period: 1. People who look away from the road too long when they're driving. I keep thinking they're gonna wreck, and about 50% of the time, I'm right! 2. Women who throw drinks in men's faces. No matter how warranted this action may be, I say exit with a little refinement. It gives all women a bad name... 3. People who constantly have 4-of-a-kind or a straight flush when playing straight 5-card draw. Come on! 4. A couple who is fighting one moment and embracing the next. This is so overused and unrealistic. Was curious if you all had any to share as well...
  8. Good guess path, but no quite that contemporary. HINT #2: "old faithful" suitor
  9. Oooh, I love the easy ones! Yippee! I'm gonna go a bit more contemporary... HINT #1: one-night stand
  10. Stel I know the feeling - sometimes it slows to a crawl in here! Is it The Secret Life of Walter Mitty?
  11. I'll try another angle. House of the Seven Gables?
  12. I'm thinking comedy. jfac, is it "The Family Jewels"?
  13. Flying Down to Rio is correct! Congratulations, stella! And thanks, path for the 'message in a bottle' you sent out. *s* I'll be in and out all day myself.
  14. I'm getting off for about an hour, take a shower, tidy up the house... HINT #4: aerial choreography
  15. Only four of us have been able to get in all weekend. We are in the trivia forum.
  16. Nope. HINT #3: grounded on a desert beach(ostentatiously for 'repairs')
  17. Excellent cluegiving stella! It turned into almost charades. Very fun! Okay, since the two of y ou here now are 'musical lovers', HINT #1: pilot
  18. Sella you're so cool for being tolerant with us! Shakespeare's not my forte, but is it Henry VIII?
  19. It's been forever since Ive seen it, but "Count of Monte Cristo"??
  20. Thanks, stel! I missed my calling as a writer. This would make a great character study, actually. And we have the creme-de-la-creme here, save but a few. I wrote a couple people - figure if their addy's exposed it's okay. Can I guess twice with the same answer: Dark Mirror?
