Guess no one's here, so I'll give it up. It was "In Cold Blood" (1967).
I only had about an hour to play anyway.

Oh okay! I like to call that "the ratings clip", since it always shows the rating of the upcoming movie.
-
HINT #3: based on Truman Capote novel of same name
-
HINT #2: Kansas
-
Okay girl! Seeya!
-
Stella everybody has quarrels - don't let it run ya off!
-
Okay, I'll try one, if anyone's still in the mood...
HINT #1: homicidal duo
-
As for dan's question, I'll take a wild guess and say Ginger Rogers?
-
DON'T GO STELLA!

Yikes. are we doing three clues now?
-
King's Row?

I posed this question around the Thanksgiving table last week, and the overwhelming concensus agreed about the "he winged me" thing! Slappy's "100 lb. she-women whipping up burly dudes" argument came in second.
Also, as my son pointed out - how often the bad guy has a chance to shoot the victim point-blank, but would rather go into a chatty diatribe and eventually be overtaken.

I take it you guys are not talking about the B&W clip with the apartment windows along the el train, NOR the animated girl brushing her hair - what other intro am I missing? Do they still show it? A "fur shop" doesn't ring a bell....
-
I'd like to have heard Page's rendition of "Crippled Crow". *grin*
-
WTG stella! "Casablanca" it is! *S*
-
HINT #2: "I can no longer think - you have to think for the both of us..."
-
I knew I'd seen it! *S*
Okay
HINT #1: political intrigue
-
Madame Bovary?
-
Oh I saw this just recently! What the heck was it???
Ship of Fools?
-
Hey stel...just had things to do IRL...*grin*
Is it Now, Voyager?
-
Jimmy Page?

Is it Dark Waters?

Why is everyone so adamant about hating "American Beauty"? It's not about demographics, income level, military branch affiliation or sexual preference. These characters are exaggerated almost to the point of "caricature" status - hardly anything to get defensive about.
Personally I found it witty, suspenseful, and innovative. After relishing every scene of the build-up, I could hardly wait to see 'whodunit'!
-
Sounds familiar but I can't place it. I'm gonna go for a while. *bye*
