  1. I first wrote to TCM over 3 months ago to remind them of the upcoming anniversary. To put it bluntly...there's a minimal competence to be found at TCM and it's just enough above the bar to keep the network afloat. Expecting them to even notice Ginger's birthday milestone, let alone program for it, is a stretch. It's not going to happen.
  2. It would have been her 100th birthday. Did TCM miss this? There are no Ginger movies scheduled that day.
  3. Why has TCM chosen to revamp the daily schedule to include Leonard Maltin reviews? Who is Leonard Maltin and why should his opinion be allowed to cheapen many WONDERFUL films each day that he, for reasons known only to himself, apparently didn't like? It seems TCM is doing a disservice to their own lineup. I REALLY like many of the films that Maltin has trashed in the newly included reviews. Can we get rid of them? Quickly?
  4. I've been "walking out" of nearly everything TCM has aired over the last 3-4 days since the completely unwanted audible narration for the blind nonsense started.
  5. Several days ago, TCM started adding audible narration for the blind to nearly all programming. WHY? There literally aren't 100 people nationwide who will use it but there are 100 people ON MY STREET who will turn off TCM because of it. It's no different than listening to someone talk on their cell phone next to you for an entire movie. Why is TCM DESTROYING these films? I sometimes wonder if TCM is purposely trying to go the way of AMC...... Get rid of it !!!!!!

  8. Do you ever think that maybe TCM has a death-wish and WANTS to go the way of AMC? There aren't 100 people nationwide who are utilizing the audible narration currently DESTROYING "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre." TCM has been doing it all day. Why? There are 100 people ON MY STREET who are watching something else because they don't want the damn guy sitting next to them in the movie talking out loud from start to finish. TCM - If you truly aren't suicidal, give this stuff A LOT more thought before putting it into production. The ruining of the Daily Schedule for the Leonard Maltin nonsense, and now ruining these classic films so you can potentially appeal to 100 people (at most) while alienating maybe a million. Enough.
  9. Why the Daily Schedule format change? It's now much-less informative at a glance. The only addition is the Leonard Maltin reviews. Does anyone really want them? Anyone? TCM - This is a no-brainer. Put it back the way it was. We're really not interested in Maltin and your relationship with him.
  10. Throughout this 7 episode production, those involved with choosing the content seemed desperate to create a role for women, minorities, etc., that didn't happen in reality. It's revisioinist history. Each episode, especially the last, seemed to be created by a group of hopeless ultra-liberals who had been given free reign to spew their long-supressed frustrations. I had hoped for far more from this series, which had the potential to be something great. Sadly, it was not.
  11. Majority rules! The Leonard Maltin nonsense is now gone from the Schedule. Glad I could help
  12. Hello TCM....can you get rid of the newly added Leonard Maltin Movie Reviews in the Schedule as quickly as possible! I speak for the entire TCM Community when I tell you WE DON'T WANT IT! Who really cares what Maltin thinks about anything? It's unnecessary clutter and should be removed immediately.
  13. If given a choice between "hours and hours" and Bowery Boys, or the "hours and hours" of "all black" films to which I'm being subjected this Saturday night, I assure you we'll all be watching the boys without interruption......
  14. Did anyone else notice that there is 78 minutes of dead-time in the schedule for Tuesday morning, June 29th? Since I was up, I turned TCM on just to see what was on. Wow! This is on TCM?!? Although it's in B&W, there is NO WAY it passed the Breen office. Given who was in it (Jonathon Winters, Rod Steiger), I think it was from the mid 1960's. Debauchery of any description, right there on TCM. I only wish I had thought to tape it so I could prove it. Amazing.
  15. Mod "Renee" When you close a thread, and ask that the conversation be kept all in one place, it would be good to first confirm that the topics being discussed are the same. The topic about the Lena Horne tribute schedule change has nothing to do with the topic in this thread, yet you directed the discussion here and closed the other thread. I can understand that TCM is squeamish to have the topic discussed and there's an easy way to avoid it....stop pre-empting the schedule. There have been many notables die in the last 6 months. Most far more important to the history of Hollywood than Horne. None of them had specials rushed into production and then rushed onto the schedule. Edited by: ILoveGinger on May 25, 2010 9:00 AM
