Yes that's defenitely it. The title still doesn't sound familiar though. I remember the host mentioning the filming being done during a real hurricane in the Rockaways. Thanks.

I'm trying to remember a movie TCM premiered last year. It was old crime noir about a man who returns back into his home town to kill someone. First he goes to a fat sweaty guy to buy a gun(the fat guy hides his money in a lamp). Then he goes to a Christmas or New Years Eve party at an old friend's place and aggressively flirts with a woman who rejects him. The end has him being chased down and shot dead in what I believed to be the Rockaways of Long Island or Queens NY by some bungalows near the water.

 

I think it was a new film transfer for TCM.
