Barry also married Carotta Duvall(Vera Ralston)a French nurse George had met during WW2.George and Carotta are soon having an affair. Shady private detective Ernie Hicks(Broderick Crawford)finds out about the affair and is soon blackmailing them. Ernies mistress,Helen Anderson(Constance Dowling)falls for George,but he has little use for her.Angry,Helen threatens blackmail too. Great Film Noir Thriller. John Carroll(as he did in 1942s Flying Tigers)again steals the show.John Carroll was a very underrated actor.

An animated cartoon was planned of this musical.Cast,Frank Sinatra,Ella Logan,Jim Backus,Ella Fitzgerald,Barry Fitzgerald,Louis Armstrong,etc All the recording was done,but when it came to the animation the money was all gone. Good Score Old Devil Moon,That Great Come And Get It Day,How Are Things In Glocca Morra(The Only Time Frank Sinatra Ever Recorded this Song),If This Isnt Love,Look To The Rainbow,etc Frank played Woody. The 1968 Fred Astaire version was a let down.
