Casey Martin(Frank Lovejoy)a small time hood is picked up after a highjacking.The police give him his choice,help get Mobster,Dutch Becker(Forrest Tucker)or prison.Casey frowns on the idea,but after seeing his drugged up sister(Evelyn Easton)agrees.
Dutch takes Casey on,but his henchman,Lou Terpe(Timothy Carey)hates Casey.
Casey has his problems with his girl(Peggy Castle)suspicious Lou,and one bad move will be his last.
Pretty Good Film Noir.

Joe Gray(John Russell)an ex hood wants to start a new life with a French girl,Marte(Vera Ralston)who saved his life.His Uncle Nick(Luther Adler)New Yorks Top Don and Underboss Charley(Forrest Tucker)frown on his leaving.Carrie Williams(Claire Trevor)once Joes mistress also wants him to stay
Rev Simon Andrews(Grant Withers)his company chaplain is convinced Joe is now on the up and up and goes with Joe and Marte.
Sen William Stephens(Brian Donlevy)also part of Joes Company is out to smash the mob.He likes Joe,but doesnt believe hes out of the mob.
Soon the mobsters spread out their operations and come to Joes hometown.Joe still doesnt want to get involved again,but as the operations grow,nobody believes Joe is innocent except Marte and Simon.
Not a bad Film..

John Baker(Bill Elliott)an innocent man wanted for murder returns to see his girl,Livvy Weston(Lorna Gray)In a shoot out where Mike tries to bring John in,Mikes wounded.
Mike comes across Glenn Larrabee(Noah Berrt JR)an honest rancher up againt Wade Proctor(Grant Withers)who trying to clear out the small ranchers.Non are a match against,Dancer(Bob Steele)Proctors ace gunman.
John wants to help,but his brother and the law are hot on his trail.

Shanghai,shortly after WW2.Brad Dunham(George Raft)returns from a mission for Chinas Black Market.Brad is a disgraced flyer angry at life for being framed by White Russian Black Market head(June Havoc)Having to make a living,Brad joined up.
From the States comes reporter,Marc Andrews(Tom Tully)an old friend of Brads who knows he was framed.Hes also there to expose the Black Market.
Brad meets missionary,Linda Parker(Helena Carter)and after he sees the suffering of the children from the Black Market decides to quit.
Brad still has to deal with June and her partner,Karigan(Dan Seymour)who warns him and Marc to lay off or else.
Great Film Noir Thriller.

Neil Eichelberger(Ed Begly)runs all the rackets in town.Out to stop him is John Conroy(Edmond Obrien)the new DA.John meets his old friend,Jerry McGibbon(William Holden)an ace reporter agrees to help.Working for the DA is Amanda Waycross(Alexis Smith)a society lady who John is in love with.
Jerry finds Johns father Matt(Tom Tully)a police officer is in with Eichelberger,unknown to John.When Jerry confronts Matt with the evidence he wants to quit but is soon murdered by the mob and made to look like an accident.
When John finds the truth out and an office is torched with the mobs records and innocent people are killed,John wants to quit.
Jerry uncovers a witness who can smash Eichelbergers mob,but when of Eichelbergers mobsters(Danny Dayton)finds out he puts a killer,Red(Neville Brand)on his trail.
Great Film.Another thats never on.

Rip MacCool(David Brian)is a top gambler with all the money.Ada Strich(Mercedes MCCambridge)is a broke property owner.Rip makes a deal,he plays her a hand of poker,winner take all.Ada has Kings wired,one King showing,the other King a down card.Rip has a possible straight showing(He needs a Four)
In flashbacks Rips friends,Johnny(Barry Sullivan)a down and out pug and Shocker(Lon Chaney)tell of Rips life,from having nothing to becoming rich.Rip had been married twice,to Lily Douvane(Arlene Dahl)and Zoe Carnot(Paula Raymond)with bad results.
Does Rip have the Four?

Chester Graham(Dean Stockwell)is the spoiled son of a railroad tycoon(Leon Ames)Chester is angry because his father has little time for him.
At a train stop in the middle of nowhere Chester wanders away.The train goes without him.
Chester meets tough cattle drive boss,Dan Mathews(Joel McCrea)and is told to come to the camp.Chester,having no choice agrees.He soon meets Dans crew(Chil Willis,Howard Petrie,Bob Steele,etc)and soon admires Dan,his crew,and wants to sign up for the rest of the drive.
Pretty Good Western.

Testimony Of Evil(1961)Brian OMalley(David Brian)is a big time political gangster boss set to go on trial for murder.Eliot Ness(Robert Stack)has two witnesses,George Davas(Johnny Seven)and Stanley Wilinski(Jack Elam)two of OMalleys henchmen.
Davas is in love with Julie Duvall(Fay Spain)hiden away till the trial is over.
OMalley orders his top organizer Weiser(John Marley)to get rid of them,but both are under tight guard.
After OMalley gets a crooked cop to kill Davas,Wilinski tells Ness Fay Spain overheard the murder plot he,Davas,OMalley,and Weiser were involved in.Problem is nobody knows where shes hiden.
I think Brian OMalley was a spinoff on Tom (TJ)Pendercast,the top Kansas City political rackateer.TJ was a friend of Harry Trumans back when he was starting out.After doing a prison term TJ got out of prison and died in Jan 1945.Harry went to his funeral much to the shock of a lot of people.HT had a warm spot in his heart for TJ.
Pat Hingle later played Pendergast in the film Truman.He did a good job,but David Brian was the better pick.

Philip Marlowe(George Montgomery)is called in to find a rare coin,The Brasher Doubloon.He falls for pretty Merle Davis(Nancy Guild)working for rich well to do lady(Florence Bates)
Needless to say Phil gets involved with shady crooks,the mob,all kinds of assorted characters.
Leave it to Raynond Chandler.

At the close of the Civil War,reporter Barry Conovan(Robert Stack)is sent to Texas.On his way he meets Jane Baxter Scott(Anne Gwyne)who he falls for.Jane is engaged to Henry Jackson(Broderick Crawford)who Jane,her brother Robert(Jackie Cooper)and everyone thinks is a Texas patraiot.Hes really a selfish rebel leader whos only out for himself.
Barry meets Jackson who wants to cover him for the newspaper.Soon he finds Jacksons true motives.
