Do you recall if Robert Mitchum and Jack Palance are in this movie?

For some time I've been trying to search the title of a movie, most likely a Russian classic, made in Black and White. Plot is as follows... Hermit like man who lives in the Siberian wilderness who both dreads and hunts Siberian tigers and lives off the land. The movie has very little dialogue and except for some backround individuals, only this one rough character. He eventually ages and is compelled somehow to move to a city, possibly, Vladivostock. Subtitles. Unforgettable movie in it's own way but I have no clue as to title, director or date of production. {Guess on date- before 1930 or even earlier} Thanks to anyone who remembers this film.
