  1. Mary Trump is wrong here. White Supremacy has been a cornerstone of the Republican Party since Goldwater, with Nixon, Reagan and Trump (among many, many others) capitalizing on it. I have seen pictures of the Trump statue and it is by far the ugliest object yet to be associated with Trump. It insults the US flag by using it as a pair of shorts. The gold is too bright and cheap looking. It is also misshapen with a fat head and grotesque little boy body. Further proof that the majority of Republicans, least ways CPAC members, and Trump have no taste whatsoever. White Trash rei
  2. He really does ruin the show which is why I don't watch much of it during his time period. Will check to see if any real breaking news is being covered and then quickly move on to CNN, HLN and Newsy.
  3. S.C. Republicans have not gone this far, but they are hell-bent on lowering state income tax. Top bracket is 7%, BUT the actual rate after a multitude of exceptions, deductions and so forth is about 3%. They also plan to exempt all income for military retirees, even those who receive up to $165,000 per year in retirement pay. Meanwhile retired teachers, state and local employees, etc. are taxed on most of their incomes. Sales tax is 6%, but most local governments add 1-3%. The rationale is that no taxes will attract professionals and corporations to the states. Of course these people
  4. I caught some clips on MSNBC this morning and got so bad that Moanin' Joe had them stop the clips. Sickening. Unfortunately, it appears that with a few, very rare exceptions all Republicans are now firmly in the Trump camp. He is their god and there is no other god. Guess they can start a new list of lies he tells since leaving the White House.
  5. And the windmills had practically ZERO effect on loss of power during winter storms. Whereas REPBUBLICAN governors and state legislatures had 100% effect on causing power outages.
  6. Yes, maybe, probably. Not sure what Warren has been asking for, but we do need more than we have now.
  7. Warranties are useless if cannot get them honored or have to go to more trouble or expense than it is worth.
  8. Have always found this silly. I have never been to a bar or restaurant where I or anyone I was with has left an unfinished alcohol drink. Nor have I even seen it done. But it happens in movies and on TV shows all the time.
  9. My entire city has poles with wires.
  10. Your last statement is better and more accurate. However, laying off police (or other government employees) due to funding issues is not related to "Defund the Police" or any similar movement as you actually noted in the second sentence of your first paragraph. Same thing is happening in many locations due to budget shortfalls. As for why patrols are reduced in certain areas, police chiefs/commissioners/etc. are politicians and have learned how to play the game. Blame problems on insufficient money or employees and so forth. Some of the small town (populations under 5,000) police
  11. This is total BS! The rise in crime is happening everywhere. Unfortunately, most of the targets or opportunities for crime are in large population centers/cities. Has nothing to do with funding the police, but with geography and demographics.
  12. My wife and I both got ours -Pfizer. No reactions, other than arm sore at vaccination site for a few days. Both in the over 70 group and got through regional hospital. Have a friend who got his - Moderna - through VA. No reactions.
  13. The president, AKA National Command Authority and Commander-in-Chief, cannot go to Congress every time a military action is necessary. That is why he is the C-I-C! There is a difference between a military strike in response to an attack on US forces or even our allies and authorizing an expensive, prolonged action. In this case, a proportional response to an unprovoked attack. Congressional approval would be warranted in the case of an invasion of another country or similar.
  14. I agree with this as far as restricting women's sports to biologic females.
  15. All the sources, including those in Texas state government and power industry, unequivocally state that the loss of wind and solar power providers had practically ZERO effect on causing Texas power outages. It was due to failures of nuclear, coal and natural gas power providers. Most importantly, it was due to a failure of Republican governors and state legislatures to effectively regulate the power industry in Texas. Aided and abetted by power companies run by Republican supporting executives. It happened in 85 or 86 and then again in 2011 and ALL were told it would happen again.
  16. You don't seem to be able to comprehend. Maybe you should stop trying to read this on a PHONE. Not disagreeing with your opinion, BUT AS I HAVE SAID THREE TIMES OR MORE BEFORE, EDDIE DID NOT EXPLAIN WHY IT IS A NOIR THAT PEOPLE SHOULD WATCH. What is so hard to understand about that????????
  17. About damn time! Get it done ASAP and fire DeJoy. Incidentally in yesterday's testimony, DeJoy told Congress that he will be around a long time -"get used to it."
  18. As I have stated at least twice already - Eddie did NOT state why it is a film noir or why viewers should watch it as a film noir. Others noted the same thing. I watch Noir Alley as much for Eddie's commentary as for the movies he picks as I have already seen most of them. That is where I learn why he thinks it is a significant noir and why it should be viewed.
  19. No, I said Eddie did not give an explanation of why it should be considered a Noir film. Others noted the same thing. I didn't watch it any longer because I found it boring.
  20. Because the OMB director has far more power than than the NSA.
  21. Another useless post that is a tweet and therefore has no substance that can be accessed here.
  22. Don't mean a thing. Trump would lie under oath as readily as he does not under oath.
  23. "Lies, damn lies" to quote a movie character. Trump did everything he could to avoid taking responsibility or actions on the Pandemic until he had no choice. Even then he did not really support any of the efforts to actually combat Covid. He made statements and recommendations that were false and endangering to peoples lives. Many died because of Trump. He placed his incompetent son-in-law in charge of distribution which is why we have so many problems now. Where is the Hell have you been for the last year????? And don't blame the Democrats because they inherited a disaster and
  24. MM always finds these obscure (in most cases) articles and posts them without attribution. Then he adds his comments which are usually untruthful and with sole purpose of building up Trump or attacking Democrats.
