Actually, a few years back we began a thread requesting such a line up on Saturdays. I believe I started it off with showing Tarzan pictures on Saturday afternoons.

Would Disney Exist If Not for Universal?
Janet0312 replied to antoniacarlotta's topic in General Discussions
I wonder if Old Man Disney would have been surprised that his dream is still as popular today and maybe even more so than way back when. -
My brother and sister and I still watch the Stooges and do many segments of dialogue from the shorts which somehow fit into our bizarro daily lives. I was making cookies over at my brother and sister-in-law's house one day and my sister-in-law has a very old mixer. Ancient in fact. So I'm putting everything together and from Heavenly Daze, I say "Now you put the pen in here and load the paper thusly. Be careful or it will overflow". Well, needless to say, we were in stitches.

You know, it's kind of funny how the old westerns have held up to this day. And when you need a diversion from this crazy life of ours, MeTV is one place to find it. I'm still waiting to see the Bonanza take off Maverick did.

I can't take it anymore! Please, TCM, hire me. I will come up with a diverse selection of matinee films like never before. I asked for westerns, short subjects, cartoons, comedy, serials, etc. Saturday matinee fodder. But you keep showing the same stuff every week! How many months were we subjected to the Bowery Boys, some even shown twice? I love them, but you need to have some diversity. Throw in a murder mystery or Hope and Crosby. I can do very nicely without months and months of Popeye. And now Bomba the Jungle Boy? Yikes! Yes, I've tuned out. Currently my Saturday morning fodder is the Food Network. Toodleoo, TCM Saturday Matinee.

Definitely a creepy movie.

The Post an Interesting Pic thread
Janet0312 replied to Richard Kimble's topic in General Discussions
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Been working insane hours. The first few episodes when they were trying to build on the characters, Lorne Greene, for one, didn't want Ben to play a rancher who kicks people off his property, He wanted Ben to be a nice guy that invites people to come on down. Lorne was the type of man that was affectionate and when he put his arm around Mike in a scene, Dortort commented that there's nobody in any western that does that, not because it was gay, but because it was nice. It stood out that Ben truly loved his sons. Lorne and Mike had a lifelong friendship and Mike called Lorne "Dad" up until he passed away. -

Michael call Lorne "Dad" until his dying day. Producer Dortort commented on Lorne's arm around him and Lorne said, "But I like the kid."" -

Who can the mummy catch?
-
Co worker Bruce interested in what Svengooli's fodder this weekend. I had to laugh. The Mummy movies. His tykes know Dracula and Frankenstein, but they are not familiar with the mummy. It kills me that today's kids know the monsters. Actually, I bought Bruce a Universal monster tee shirt and the kids jnow most of the monsters.

How about Mr. Hobbs?
-
You may be right, Swiffer. I've seen all of these. Good schlock fodder on a rainy Saturday afternoon. (I meant Swithin)
-
I'm watching Columbo too. Love me some Peter Falk and I... Oh. You're watching something else.
-
I know. I don't know what it is about them, but I can;t stomach them at all.
-
Well, good luck with that. I cannot stand Hammer horror flicks, so I will be staying away.
-
Most definitely his role as Shear Khan in Jungle Book.
-
Me too. I had a friend in grammar school whose dad was a manager of a theater and we would get into the theater for free. I remember watching True Grit among others.

I don't think John Wayne is as iconic today as he was when we were kids. My god, he was so popular, so manly, and so western America.

Woody Allen is another I can't stand.
