Orson Welles. I cannot stand him. Why? I don't know. I just never could. So I am probably one of the only people around here that hasn't seen Citizen Kane.

Hey, fellas! Ain't I gettin' to look more and more like Barrymore? -
I hate it when people say these things happen. Whenever something happens, people say these things happen! Sylvester!

I bought it on a DVD package as well, just to get a copy of Horror Island.

OMG, Jim! The dialogue in this movie is to die for. Leif's Laurie is hilarious. "Plenty of guys around here with feet. Why don't you measure them?" "I bet Old Frozen Face wears a size ten." "Do you know it is contrary for servants to use the phone for their personal affairs?" "There was nothing personal about what I was going to say." "Moreover, it is extremely bad form to gossip about your employers. If I did my duty I would dismiss you on the spot." "You needn't bother. I'm quitting." "You can't do dat." "After what I've seen and heard around this asylum? Try and stop me."

Cry of my Werewolf Friend - Coming home from work the other night, driving by a sheep farm, I see something in the road ahead running. What is that? Is that a dog? It was a coyote and he was running in front of me. Come on, move to the side, little pal, and he eventually did, little ****. I take great delight in listening to them cry at night. It's soothing and creepy at the same time. I doubt the sheep farmer would have been pleased tho...

Not only that. He does the master's laundry.

Thanks for sharing the photo. I love it. Pretty dog. Yes, oh yes. Return of the Vampire. One of my favorites. An interesting take on vamprism during the war where the enemy is bombing such vital military installations like graveyards... Andreas! I agree with you about Nina's presence in films and TV. She was wonderful.

To be honest, Tone, I couldn't finish watching, it was that bad. It was more about zombies and gypsies than werewolves.

Cry of the Werewolf Did somebody leave the cap off the tube of airplane glue when they wrote this thing? What's with the rubber band around the doggie's jaws? No animals were harmed in the making of this film - only humiliated.

What movie would you like to see remade?
Janet0312 replied to Colorado Expat's topic in General Discussions
Sorry I'm in the world. I wasn't aware there had been a movie made of the series. But why bother? My point is that you can't outdo the original. The other thing is this. There were so many amazing writers back then that came up with all these stories and film treatments. We don't have that today. Well, at least I'm not seeing any Harlen Elisons out there or Ray Bradburys. Have you any musical scores to compare to the ones written back in the day? Any adlibbing from actors in the like of Crosby and Hope? There may be. I don't watch anything new on TV and I don't go to the theater. I'm content to stay at home and watch whatever the heck I want on my giant screen TV which includes baseball. Man. Fenway Park never looked so good. Or was never so comfortable... -

What does this picture make you think of? -
Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Wonderful! Gee, I love that song. Huh... I love Dean too. I used to love when he would come out from back stage and fall onto his piano. Oh, variety shows, where have you gone?
-
Oh, gosh! Remember when MTV was new?
-
I was just thinking of Road House where Ida Lupino sings that song. Now that's noir, baby!

What movie would you like to see remade?

Take Gone With the Wind for example. Could they ever do a remake that would surpass the original? No way! It's not a favorite of mine, but standing back and looking at the work that went into that picture. The number of movie stars, directors, technicians. My god, Hattie McDaniel was the first African American to win an Oscar, for crying out loud. And let me ask you this... You see any actor out there today that can even compare to Clark Gable's looks? There isn't anyone out there today that can make me swoon, let me tell you, Dargo. -

Exactly. It is a generational thing. -

You can't compare the shows back then. I know a lot of stuff is out of date. Take 77 Sunset Strip for example. It's quite dated. Who knew that Kookie would give Elvis a run for his money? But it's a very entertaining series and I don't know if anything today can compare to it. I tried to get into The Rookie cop series. I thought it was a cool story of a middle aged man trying to thwart criminals, but it is so violent. I couldn't watch it. Also, back in the day, there were so many actors that we would see again and again in guest roles in everything from Gunsmoke to Get Smart. There are numerous movie stars that worked on television series. -

I'm sorry. Let me clarify. I'm talking about remakes of King Kong, Godzilla, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, War of the Worlds. I understand that kids today want shoot em up, computer generated villains and all that, but really... In my opinion you simply can't outdo what I consider blockbusters. -
