Totally agree. I think cell phones are the root of most bad manners. I feel like I'm out of the loop because I'm not of the club that constantly has a cell phone to his or her ear. There's a time and place for everything, people. Movie theaters and events should be cell phone free, unless you have an emergency.

I love this film. My absolute fave part of the film is when Clifton James' charactor tells Bogie he should have mixed in 'Quentin. "They got some smart guys at 'Quentin." And Bogie gives him that look that says, "Yeah. That's why they're in there." Excellent film. One of my fave Bogie & Bacalls. Thanks so much for the info.

I rather enjoy MST3K's version of This Island Earth. -
Found a new channel while making clam chowdah. COZI TV. They are running "Keep Em Flyin'" with Abbott & Costello. "I'm lookin' for the boy with the wistful eyes..."

What movie do you really want to see--but can't

Speaking of made for TV movies, whatever happened to Crowhaven Farm with Hope Lange? -
Would anybody happen to have a photo or screen cap of a scene of the galley slaves rowing in this picture? I'd like a copy to hang up here in the office. It is the Sea Hawk, isn't it? Or is it Cap'n Blood?

It's a cute little movie. What's not to like about Jimmy Stewart? I love it when he calls his grandson a little creep.

Well, look at Roger Corman who put out Little Shop of Horrors in what, two or three days?

I attended the 25th anniversay celebration in Boston. The only cast member that wasn't there was Guy Williams, as he had passed away. Thanks for the link, but I know I've read somewhere, sometime that the chariot was still on the studio back lot. Or maybe one of the actors said that. It's been a long time and my brain is tired.

Anybody know whatever happened to the charriot? Last I heard, it was still situated on 20th Century lot.

Those skeletons haunted my sleep for many a year. I think my fave is Mysterious Island. Ray lived a pretty long time and gave us plenty to keep the lights on when turning in. Very creative man.

Alice In Wonderland (1933) Friday Night

I wonder if the making of this film had anything to do with the times, meaning the Depression. I tried to find some info in my library of film books, but came up with zilch. At any rate, any of you out there interrested in eating an Italian meatball with eyes? -
Speculation and only speculation: Perhaps Ms. Durbin was afraid of the studio system and didn't want to turn out to be a drugged up dope addict studio ****.

I'm looking forward to everyone's comments after they've seen it! -
Hibi wrote: I'm hoping TCM can scrounge together some films to show. I've never seen a complete film of hers. I did see part of one (the one with Stokowski?) when TCM ran it awhile ago. 100 Men & a Girl. Very enjoyable film. I've watched Three Smart Girls on YouTube. That's my fave.

I thought it was odd that it was on so soon again, but I was happy about it because I missed the beginning of it the first run. I enjoyed the actors and the wonderful scenery.

Years ago channel 38 in Boston had a slew of old Paramount movies. This was one of them. Yes, it is creepy in a Babes in Toyland sort of way. W.C. Fields' Humpty Dumpty is really strange and that's putting it mildly. Can't wait to see this flick again. -
She was a favorite of mine as well. Her name is mentioned in Here Come the Co-eds in a song that Lou and Peggy Ryan sing, "Let's Play House".

I love that song she did in Beach Blanket Bingo, I think it was that picture. "I know, you know, let's get together and..."

I'd like to see John Karlen doing Essentials. He's a big fan of old movies and loves Chester Morris.
