She was a favorite of mine as well.
Her name is mentioned in Here Come the Co-eds in a song that Lou and Peggy Ryan sing, "Let's Play House".

I love that song she did in Beach Blanket Bingo, I think it was that picture. "I know, you know, let's get together and..."

Having to work Sunday nights seems soooooooooo worth it.

I'd like to see John Karlen doing Essentials. He's a big fan of old movies and loves Chester Morris.

Very strange flick. They even gave credit to the creator of the mermaid's tail in the opening credits.
Any speculations on who the father is of the baby merman? I'm going with the doc.

It seemed to me that something was missing when that expert spear-thrower made his mark. I remember sitting there thinking, "Well? What happened?"
This is another of those pictures that scared the crap outta me when I was a kid. Where I went to grammar school, they used to show movies in the basement and this was one of them. I don't remember how I got home after that, but I bet I ran.

I wish they showed stuff about their miniatures. Warners had the best miniatures.

It was a wonderful treat. Amazing how all those sets are still there.

Yes. Watching it now. I love early Bogie.

I pretty much don't tune in during Oscar month.

If you"re the only young blood out there that loves old films...
My co-worker is thirty and introduced me to some 50's music. (Nervous Norvous is a fave of his.) I introduced him to TCM.

Not for $42.00 bucks!

Yes! The Shuttered Room. On my way to Amazonia!

My fave WWII movie is any movie that kills Japs.

Oliver Reed is chasing Carrol Lynly on a rocky shore and please pardon my spelling. There's a couple that buys a house and the mad sister is in the attic.
-
I am still waiting to see the movie with Oliver Reed and the crazed animalistic attic sister. I saw it as a kid, but don't remember the title.
-
I'm not a fan of foreign films or films about grown men playing babies, so I just switch to something else. No big deal.
-
So who would actually want to?

I missed the part of why Ricardo Cortez was playing detective, but I thought it was a pretty good film. Spooky elements througout.

The Life of Jimmy Dolan. I caught some of this last night. When I saw Guy Kibbee as the rough and tumble copper in the fighter's room, it reminded me of Claude Rains' character in They Made Me a Criminal. And as I continued to watch, it became clear that TMMAC was a remake of this picture. Wow. Never knew that.

Years ago channel 38 in Boston had a slew of old Paramount movies. This was one of them. Yes, it is creepy in a Babes in Toyland sort of way. W.C. Fields' Humpty Dumpty is really strange and that's putting it mildly. Can't wait to see this flick again.
