  1. The error code shows up from my DVD recorder. My setup did record VCR and DVD; then when the cable company "upgraded." that's when the inability to record occured.
  2. I will! Thank you, Awsome Miles! I hope to find a full movie. If I do find it, I'll let you know if it is the movie I remember!
  3. Bogie, do you have any recommendations as to any devices that I may use in order to continue to enjoy recording? Much gratitude!
  4. It says "Error 45" I believe. I was told by a Cox customer service rep that TCM allows one "access" which is the cable company. My "access" which is my attempt to record, results in the error message. I also ned to clarify that I do not have a cable box that records the movies. Thank you for your help. Please advise.n

  6. I own a dvd recorder (Magnavox). My cable company has changed format and now I can no longer record TCM when I'm away. Does anyone have a solution? Many thanks to all!
  7. It does! But I don't remember Anthony Quinn. Is there a holy man that accompanies the two travelers?
  8. Greetings fellow cinephiles! Once again, I am asking for help from your brilliant collective knowledge. Years ago, my sister and I were traveling and ended up watching a movie in the hotel. There was no way to find out the name of the movie. Here's what I remember: A boy was traveling somewhere (maybe making a pilgrimage) with a pet donkey or mule. Along for the travel is a monk, brother, or priest. It was a color film and reminiscent of a Paul Gallico-type of story. Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance!
  9. Thank you for the post! No, this isn't what I am looking for. Maybe it was a music video, but I don't think so. In my mind's eye I remember a couple walking from right to left (in the picture frame) against what appears to me, NYC brownstones. The man is closer to the "camera" and the woman to his right. The weather is misty/rainy. The look was pretty sophisticated, polished.
  10. Hello Fellow Videophiles! Please help if you can: Was there a television series that had the song Just the Two of Us by Grover Washington, Jr.? Thanks so much to a great community!
  11. Greetings Cinephiles! I am looking for a b&w movie I saw in the late-60s to early-70s. I think the movie was made between the mid-1940s to late-1950s. The movie was about a criminal and his girlfriend. They both end up going straight, but only after he has had plastic surgery to change his appearance. He becomes a surgeon and she becomes a surgical nurse. He knows who she was/is, but she does not know who he was/is, and she falls in love with him. Does this movie sound familiar to anyone? The movie is not Man in the Dark, The Man Who Returned to Life, nor The Man Who Lived Twice
  12. You have helped me several times to locate the titles of movies and television series and I hope you don't mind if I impose upon you in order to find a couple of other movies.  I am hoping you can help me with these:

Film #1:  All I remember is that a white woman is in a foreign country, perhaps Africa.  A native brings her a "rock." She realizes that it's a diamond, thus setting off a frenzy of mining.  I did do some research and believe it to be The Jonker Diamond, but I'm not sure.

Film #2:  My sister asked me to find the name of a movie starring John Wayne as a dentist.  I think it is In Old California but again, I'm not sure.

Again I offer you my sincerest gratitude.

I'm happy to have been of use to you.Not so sure I'll be so now.

For film #2 it looks like it may be a movie called Dark Command(1940).  But I find conflicting descriptions.  In Old California (1942) has Wayne as a pharmacist.

      For film #1 I don't have a clue.

If you post your question on Information, please!, someone might know better.

      Thanks for your interest!

  13. Yes! That's the movie! Many thanks!
  14. About what year was the movie made? Anything else unique that could help?
  15. I am looking for the title of a foreign movie that Alicia hosted. All I remember is that it took place during WWII in a small community and that there were two couples. I think the protagonist betrayed someone. At the end, he committed suicide by hanging himself. I believe it was in a church. Does someone remember the title? Many thanks to everyone~
