[old baseball movie]

thanks, but I don't think that's it.. The movie I saw was a b/w film and not a musical. It started with a man who was a baseball fanatic and thought if he were on the team they would win games......he was old and then he was a young man in his 20s. Two different actors played the part.

I watched a movie several years ago and would like to know the name of it. I have never seen it on TCM so don't know if you will be able to help me. It was about a middle aged man that loved baseball so much that it consumed his life. He was married to a very sweet lady but they had no children. He was given the opportunity to become a young man again and be a baseball star, he lived in the home with his wife as a border( she thought her husband had left her). It was a great movie and a very sweet ending. do you have any idea what the name of this movie is and who were the stars. Hope you can help me. thanks D. Reeves
