Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they know what the following two films where called:
The first is a black and white film about a young child hiding behind a curtain at the top of a big sweeping staircase and witnesses the father push the mother down the stairs to her death. A policeman arrives to investigate but the child has become mute due to the trauma, but the policeman suspects what has happened and refuses to give up until he can prove the murder.
The second is again (i think black and white) and is about a group of men who carry out a robbery (possibly a bank). They all end up in some sort of hotel or something where they split the money and then decide to stagger their leaving so as not to look suspicious. Each one leaves one by one until finally the last one is left. As he leaves he discovers a police van stationed outside which has been picking each one up as they leave.
I hope I have been clear in my descriptions, but it was probably over 20 years ago since I watched these films. I appreciate it if anyone could help.
