Don't recognize one of the great Irish character actors? One remarked for his easy laying on of the brogue, his mastery of self-interested rationalization, his seamless line of blarney, exquisitely composed, orchestrated, and performed for the purpose of separating food, things, and money from the people that possess them? Well, if no one does, we'll let him sink into the ocean of obsucrity. -

French actor who looks like Pepe Le Pew. I am serious!

>randomdude: >You were correct in saying Pepe Le Pew could not have been inspired by Yves Montand. However, how do we know that Yves Montand's entire career wasn't inspired by Pepe Le Pew? I am in the presence of greatness. -

First, and most important, there is nothing wrong with ending a sentence in a preposition; something I find impossible to do with this one. Second, you may consider also Jean-Paul Belmondo, and Yves Montand, though they could not possibly have served as the model for the famous Mr. Pew. They just might have features that you recognize as resembling him. Yves Montand: Jean-Paul Belmondo: -
Hollywood isn't remaking the Good Old Movies...
slaytonf replied to casablancalover2's topic in General Discussions
For multiple remakes, you can look to the works of literature for a list of suspects, including The Three Musketeers, Hamlet, A Christmas Carol, and others. -
Why eulogize a folk singer on TCMs messageboard? Because he is responsible for creating the single most enthralling, powerful moment I have ever seen on film. His passionate opening number at Woodstock, which I have just learned was an improvisation, was mesmerizing. I first saw Woodstock on a big screen and had no idea what I was in for. The rest of the movie was fine, and the other acts were great, but none compared to him. I don't know anything about his career aside form this, but is its enough for me to consider him a great musician. So wherever you are Richie Havens, if you are anywhere, Godspeed.

You can also post what you know about the movie here, and have the fellow messageboarders have a try at it.

Move plot: reluctant adult, inconvenient kid
slaytonf replied to slaytonf's topic in General Discussions
I don't know if all the Shirley Temple movies where she was an orpahn had a reluctant adult she was dumped on. Of course, the classic is Heidi. Re: Margret O'Brien, I'm not sure but I think The Secret Garden also qualifies. Thanks for your suggestions, musicalnovelty. Gloria sure fills the bill. I do think it's one of the most employed plot devices. -

Not her. Perhaps her most recognizable film title starred both Vincent Price and Christopher Lee. Mmm, I guess that doesn't narrow it down much. -
