  1. Maybe the fact that bases are occasionally returned to host countries is an indication they are not U. S. territory. I can't imagine the U. S. ever returning ground it considered it's own. I wonder if we still claim the emabssy ground in Iran as U. S. territory?
  2. >Dargo2: >there's somethin' tellin' me here instead that that guy is European. >darkblue: >Especially in those boots. >twinkee: >I know..the boots threw me too..and those tight pants, I mean, c'mon.. All part of the ingenious design to baffle, confuse, and frustrate potential solvers. One of my most successful gambits. I do believe a lot of the movies Mr. Law appeared in were European productions.
  3. Is there any place on the TCM site where a list of the movies shown on Underground can be found?
  4. Oh, yes, yes, please. And consulates, and military bases, too?
  5. Here's the original link. It wasn't impersonal, so I thought is was ok: http://www.myspace.com/kyodaiyakuza
  6. Thanks for the ending. The video I saw ended with him outside the bar, wishing his powers away.
  7. Lemme check. According to IMDB he's. . . . .American. He ended up where he bagan, that is, he was born and died in the same place--well, not exactly the same place, but the same city. Edited by: slaytonf on Mar 10, 2013 6:39 PM Now I'm starting to worry if I haven't been fooled again by the Google elves. But comparing this with other of his pics seems to confirm it's him. Here's another clue: Imagine him with wings on his back. Edited by: slaytonf on Mar 10, 2013 6:59 PM
  8. It's missisng the ending. It's an interesting film, as most films based on Wells' works are. He was an important social thinker in an important time. The film is helped in no small amount by Roland Young, who I have said before, and will say again, is a terrific actor. It is unfortunate he was not considered more of leading man material, but even in his supporting and character roles he brought a wonderful amount of refinement and polish to his portrayals. It's delightful to watch the ease with which he tosses off his performances, yet never in an off-hand way.
  9. Not Egan, here's a closer pic, which will probably give it away:
  10. Oficially: dpompper, you rule! And darkblue, sorry, I overlooked your guess. No, it's not him.
  11. I don't remember any of them being SOTM.
  12. >TB: >I never think about daylight savings. It is irrelevant to us Now that is un-american.
  13. Don't forget Hawaii, and the Pacific territories.
  14. I think I see why it was mixed up for Pacific time. When I set the month schedule for Eastern time, Chill comes up as 12:30 am to 3:30 am, which correctly accounts for the Daylight shift. When I change it to Pacific Time (or any other time) the jump in time doesn't change. TCM has an algorithm to add or subtract hours from the listed times, but the skeds are all linked. To properly account for the time jump, separate skeds would need to be developed for each time zone (to say nothing of what they would have to do for Canada). I think since this happens only twice a year, the Programmers at TCM Central HQ probably don't rate it worth the effort, leaving us to muddle through with our TV providers' listings.
  15. Surprised you're allowed to post it. Maybe the granny software can only look for bad words.
