Receptionist: Now, where were you thinking of going?
Smoketoomuch: India!
R: Ah, one of our adventure holidays.
S: Yes. . .
R: Well, you'd better speak to Mr. Bounder about that. Mr. Bounder, this gentleman is interested in the India overland.
Bounder: Morning, I'm Bounder, of adventure!
S: Morning, my name is Smoketoomuch.
B: What?
S: My name is Smoketoomuch, Mr. Smoketoomuch.
B: Well, you'd better cut down a bit, then.
S: What?
B: You'd better cut down a bit, then.
S: Oh! I see, cut down a bit for Smoketoomuch.
B; Ha! Ha! I'm afraid you get people making jokes about your name all the time, ay?
S: No, no. . . .actually it never struck me before: Smoke. Too. Much. Ha! Ha!

That would be right!
Ok, this one is unfair, but I'm an unfair guy:

-
Um. . . .ok. . .
While I'm gone:

-
twinkeee, you got her!
-
Do you have an alarm bell that alerts you to new thread posts? How do you get 'em so quick? Yes, it's Mr. Morris.
-
-
Natch:
You watch game shows?:

-
Watched it as a child. I don't remember whether I liked it or not. All I remember is the Frenchmen making fun of Gert Frobe and the Germans. It spawned a wretched squel, whose name I will not mention.
-
-
Looks like you're right!
-
The more you watch classic movies, the more you will realize the characters are stock roles: the flawed boxer hero, with ups and downs in his career; the low-key girlfriend/wife, loyal, stay-at-home; the corrupitng influencers, be they promoters, bookmakers, or evil women; the rough, tough, grizzled veteran of a trainer with a heart of gold. Stallone didn't have to use any one movie or role, just tap into the well-trod paths of movie storytelling.

The dame's a Dame. It's her.
Ok, another easy one:

-
Well, an easy one:

-
Do you remember when it aired?
-
Would you be thinking of a crane shot?
-
He does, indeed! as you correctly saw.
-
Huh? What's going on here?
OK, let me spell it out clearly. The photo was of Bibi Andersson. She was a prtotogé of Ingmar Bergman, and starred in many of his films. She has nothing to do with the I Am Curious films, which Kid-Dabb thought I was referring to, but I wasn't. I thought KD was being coy and referring to the colors of the Swedish flag (are there any other European nations with blue and yellow as their colors?)
twinkee, you got it right, and you are the only one who did, kudos.
-
>Kid-Dabb:
>I recognize her from The Good Life BBC series.
I knew the series as Good Neighbors. I suppose if I were an evil person, I would have used a pic of Penelope Keith, but then you would have recognized her, too.
-
>Kid-Dabb:
>Flag colors..? I'll have you know those are from the titles of two of those Swedish films you alluded to
Ahem:
Yellow? Blue? What films?
-
(Snork!) Huh, wha? Oh excuse me, dorpped off there. Yeah, that's her. The Kid was too coy, playing around with flag colors to get the credit.
-
She's European. If I tell you the country she's from, youll almost instantly guess her. She was used a lot by a famous director of the country she's from, in fact, he gave her her start. Now you know her.
-
I find that emptying the browser's cache and and cookies can speed things up.
-
She's wondering if anyone's gonna guess her.
-
Oh, that came from scsu1975. But that's not important,
this is:

Oh, that face, that fabulous face II - Post 1950's. Whose is it?

That's why it was unfair. But what is she?
Interestingly, in a way, Diahann Caroll is not a bad guess.
