  1. It's amazing how many posts came in while I was composing mine. This may be a little unfair. She was more a creature of the stage, and only made a handfull of movies, but she was generally a good thing in 'em: ]
  2. >per Dobbs: >How about the camera and blimp, do you recognize it? Would that be Techincolor equipment?
  3. At the risk of being too nitty, they will recognize the correctness of the spelling, but not the word itself.
  4. People who love the English language for its power and beauty can rest assured in the fact that this word, which shall remain unwritten, has knocked around odd corners and dusty alleys for some hundred and fifty years, continually gaining acceptance, Dan Quayle-like, and still remains non-standard, as it shall always.
  5. And I thought I was gonna stump everyone. Congrats, gagman66.
  6. I was being too slick in my response, because I thought the answer was tres obvious to people. So here it is official: You are right. It is Barbara Stanwyck So: ]

  10. No, I didn't have a hard day, but it did look like there was one in this thread. Here, to make everyone feel better: ]
  11. Man, it is too hard to find pics of male actors that aren't immediately recognizable. I don't know where it's from, but they tell me it's Mr. Heflin.
  12. Now it's getting complicated. Maybe we could say he did both programmers and B-movies.
  13. I was, too. Perhaps I shall get around to her one day. Good. You know who she isn't. So who is she? Oops! dpompper guessed her while I was posting. Edited by: slaytonf on Jan 21, 2013 9:34 PM
  14. The Twentieth Amendment states that the term for the President ends at noon on the twentieth day of January (nice coordination, that). President Obama was sworn in for his second term yesterday at noon in a private ceremony. The public swearing in and festivities took place today because yesterday was a Sunday. You can quickly find news articles about this by searching "president swearing in."
  15. If I am right about the pic you refer to, I did comfirm it was Dyan Cannon, and LittleAbner got it.
  16. My, you go away for a day, and pages get added to a thread. Fred, I use Safari, but if you have a PC, I guess you can't. You can also try Firefox. He's had a hard day: /post.gif]
