Do you know the date and time it was on?

Many times, on an actor's birthday, TCM will run a morning, or day-long mini-festival of thier films. This can include character actors.

Stop! Stop! Ha! Ha! No, no more! Ha! Ha! Ha! You're killing me! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Is there a Lucas light bulb joke?

I have a similar problem. Do you have Time Warner Cable? Tech support has told me to get a new cable box.

>Dothery:
> that glorious sports car
In this and other threads discussing How to Steal a Million, mention has often been made about that sports car, but incomprehensibly, no one has named it. Is it because nobody knows what it is? Well, I will tell you, becasue it is the sexiest car ever designed by the company with about the sexiest cars overall in the history of cars. It is the Jaguar E-Type, 1965 convertible. Doubless there are carheads (or do they call themselves gearheads?) with much more detailed information. I don't know how well it handled, I don't know how reliable it was, but I do know that it is the only car that I ever positively desired to own, if not a Bugatti from the 20s or 30s.

Add to the list, Female, in which a owner of an automobile corporation (Ruth Chatterton), who has a unique talent for success in the teeth of the depression, gives up control of it to an engineer (George Brent) with absolutely zero experience in management and marketing, and who has captured her heart with rudeness, insults, and abuse. !.

How do people recognize 'em? I'd never know in a million years, B.C.
But I won't confirm it till you come out and type her name.

You got 'im.
So:

I didn't think so, either, but after looking at some images of her under images on google, I saw some that approached the post.

Ida Lupino!?!?
-
It was his last one, up to that point.

I would say Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway make a fair play at charisma. But maybe that's not modern enough.
-
No, that would not be her, but it is her.
Now, this (oh, this won't take much time at all):
] -
Now if someone showed me this photo:
]and this:
]not only would I not be able to identify the actress, but I wouldn't even know they were of the same one.

When you say modern, what do you mean by that? I can think of The Hot Rock, by that's pretty many a year ago.
And I jist saw that finance said exactly the same thing. Great minds think alike.

There is also The Thomas Crown Affair, which drips with sophistication and elegance.
Harry in Your Pocket, while not a heist movie has a bit of class.

There is no walk like Lee Marvin's walk through LAX.

More importantly, Sally Kellerman from her Star Trek appearence

Yeah, but what gets me is that you could see it was Peppard in the firs place.

She is the featured star this month, so every Wednesday is Loretta Young day. There's one more to go this month, next week.

A prime example of the remarkable screen presence and personality of an actor, or actors, in this case Aurdrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole, to overcome serious deficiencies in a script and not only make a movie watchable, but enjoyable. Good heist scene, though. Clever.

I've liked her in whatever I've seen her in. I'm more interested in seeing her films than her photos, but post the site anyway.

How to Steal a Million (1966)

The question was:
>Can you think of any other modern heist films that don't have the usual violence, explosions, etc.?
That is what I was responding to. The actors in Thomas Crown have a great deal of charisma. Despite the script, which definitely is better than How to Steal, unless you have the firepower of McQueen and Dunaway, the movie would not succeed. If you want to discount Thomas Crown because is is not a pure headliner vehicle, or the characters in it are not admirable, well, that's a different discussion.
